Lynch in for Martin as really helps our forward line structure (particularly when a tall on the bench being rested)... & he loves GWS!

Give Grigg a full run through the SANFL & make up our mind on form/balance who he can come in for next week... as not much gained by his return.

Laird finished training today by moving from the main "run and spread" group to the fwds. Did some goal kicking and had a 1 on 1 chat with one of the coaches.

More time on the fwd flank?

Not really.

dropped implies you played a game or three in the lower level. Don't actually think that happened.

Hardly. Didn't even play a SANFL game.

No. Dropped is dropped. I am not sure how people can try and spin this?

Club declared his performances unacceptable and he was left out of the Adelaide side to play Richmond.

No, not playing in a lower level is just rested.

Dropped means you have to go down a level, as in you drop down.

Didn't they declare him slightly overweight/unfit? He was rested for a week and then came straight back in.

Argue semantics all you want, fact is Reilly was left out of our AFL team when he wasn't injured or suspended.

I call that dropped, you might call it something else, whatever it is it demonstrates that they're prepared to leave him out if he doesn't justify selection.

Correct.

His form was bad. So they dropped him from the Richmond game. We had the bye the following week so he went to fat camp for 2 weeks.

He actually looked a bit slimmer in the first 4 minutes that he lasted before he did his shoulder.

He's got the skill set that might actually go pretty well down there. At the absolute worst he'll offer some pace and kick and sheer aggression and pressure.

I.E. What Petrenko's meant to/has started doing.

Which is a perfectly plausible explanation if you believe:

a) That resting improves fitness
b) That a lack of fitness can be fixed in a week.

Except he had more than a week.

He last played for Adelaide vs Sydney on the 8th of June. His next game was the 29th of June vs Gold Coast.

Thats 20 days of losing weight / improving fitness.

Packet of laxatives should do the trick.
