Trouble is Trengove is our 2nd ruck and Ken doesn't know what to do with him because he slows our defense down. I agree with you and that is why i wanted Frampton in good form or not, if Ryder goes down we are in trouble. At least Frampton or Howard could be used as an effective forward and ruck. All this talk of tall forwards not being "ready" is stupid.
We aren't in a development year. We're in a year where we should be competing for the flag.
Eddy is 27 years old and was selected as a mature age recruit. He's as ready as he ever will be, barring some natural fitness improvement. Howard has previously been selected in the side, and is fit and moving well after recovering from injury.
We're currently playing a defender who isn't a natural forward by any stretch as a 2nd KPF and it is actively costing us a top 4 spot at the moment and might cost us a flag. It's not Jackson's fault, it's a list management f***up, but we all recognise that he isn't working as a forward. Players are ready because they are in form in the reserves and we need to fill their position in the AFL side.
These aren't green, 18yo first year beanpoles. Both are more than capable of playing a role in our side and both would improve our forward line right now.
Ken needs to be sacked because he's throwing away a chance at winning a flag because he's too gutless and pigheaded to move his tall players around to accomodate the natural KPF we're crying out for.
You head booker of ports flights?Gonna be hard considering he wont even be going to perth.

I think Houston would do a good job where ever he plays, he has good skills and is a smart footballer, putting him forward could be a master stroke.Houston on the bench. Could swing him forward, he's a smart enough footballer to get into good positions in the forward line. Then again, I hoped this last week too.
Wonder if Ken would take the punt on Drew if Hartlett doesn't come up? He's clever near goals. Houston then goes back into defence.
If Hammer is being taken across he'll play. Voss said he had to pass fitness tests today to get selected.
Imo, what you wrote in your post is probably what a lot of fans think but can't bring themselves to say it. Jacko was one of the players that hung around when Port were on the ropes and may be the club thinks they owe him, only my opinion.Massively unpopular opinion but if Trengove can't sit on the bench permanently, ruck full-time or ruck/sit in the backline, he shouldn't be in the team. Would absolutely prefer Eddy over him IF Hinkley's logic is that he doesn't want to change our forward structure.
Besides that, would prefer to keep Trengove in and bring out one of our forwards that simply aren't doing a lot currently for Eddy.

That's how I feel about him as well. Looking at his past 10 games:

I'd deem 3 of them to be good, 1 average, 6 below average. One of those I think were good was when we got pummeled, but the other 2 are when we smashed the opposition.
I dunno, I'm struggling to see what he brings to the table at the moment and I'm somewhat surprised he doesn't have a spot down back. Just my 2 cents though.
If in some parallel universe Ken was choosing between the two, I'd hope he went with Westy over Jacko. The problem is that we've committed to Westhoff - and Westhoff in his current role doesn't work with Trengove in the team. Westhoff should be out and allow Trengove to move up the ground more.
