Out westhoff, pittard, 2 of Impey or Neade and white

In
Eddie (plays the young role)
Howard (plays the Jacko fwd role)
The monf (plays Neade role ...neade/Impey/ white plays SGray role)
Hombsch

1.(Drop Jackson back to hombsch role)

2. (Hombsch plays Westhoff defensive role)

3. (Move Sam Gray to wing to play Westhoff wing role)

4. (We have enough hbf to cover Pittard role)

Just what I would do I know I know I am not a master coach just my very couch critic moves.

Nailed it. I'd throw in Atley for Impey as well which would give us another mid so Wingard can get some time up forward.

Meh. Ken's selections are a weekly F-U to the non-Facebook supporters. He'll just add further insult by dropping Houston for Hombsch, leaving Jasper and Broadbent still in to do nothing down back. Certainly if he drops one of his short people (Neade, Impey, SR gay) it'll only be to bring in another small or at best medium forward. Bringing in Eddy or Howard now and pushing Trengove back would only be an admission of failure, that a large chunk of the season has been pissed away, as the Trengove experiment was a clear failure 6 weeks ago. He'd rather run the side to that mid-table finish then cop it on the chin, put in the structure that could actually help and remove the real shit players.

Reality.
Outs: Houston, Neade
Ins: Hombsch, Young

What should be
Outs: Pittard, Neade, Impey, White, SR gay
Ins: Howard (or Eddy), Atley, Hombsch, Amon (White to survive if not fit), Monfries (if not fit, then Palmer)

Trengove back, Amon is Polec's wingman, not White. A real KPF to join Dixon forward. Westhoff on thin ice to go and be replaced with a third KPF (will see how he goes when we have two genuine KPF's to draw opponents).

Trengove to go down back, Westhoff to go up forward, S Gray to the midfield and Wingard to the HFF.
Trengove ain't a forward and he isn't really playing the back up ruckman role so he needs to either go down back or out of the side.
Westhoff ain't a wingman. We have White and Polec for that. He can actually lead and take a mark so he goes up forward. I know people would prefer someone like Howard or Eddy up forward but being realistic with who will be selected, I think this is better option with our list.
As great as Wingards 39 possies are, we lack his class when delivering the ball into forward 50 and kicking for goal. I think he getting 20 and 2 from the HFF would be more valuable then the 30 he is getting in the midfield. We also know S Gray ain't a small forward. That experiment never works, He is a midfielder and a midfielder only. It's his only position and where he actually plays well. He could actually rack up 25-30 possies in that role and has done so in the past with only a limited drop off in quality. He and Wingard switching makes sense to me.
I don't know how monfries is going with his injury but him on the HFF instead of Impey would also add a bit of class with our deliveries and forward play. Unless there are youngsters who have some class disposal, I don't want them coming in and playing that role.

With SPP, Wines, Ebert be our big bodies. Boak and Gray both looking like hobbled old men. I feel we are also too slow. We need some speed in the midfield on the inside. I don't know enough about our reserves players to make a suggestion there. Our normal replacements of Amon and Ah Chee don't really fit that description. This may be thinking outside the box but I wonder how Impey would go if put him in the middle and told him to win his own ball. He maybe our Rodan redux. Dunno if the club would want to risk it but if we were throwing mud against the wall, I'd throw that out there and see if it stuck.

In Marshall - he is the future of the forward line just play him
Out a small forward who can't kick goals and especially one who won't kick on goal.

Why is Matthew Broadbent avoiding criticism in this thread? Jasper made mistakes but at least he occasionally got the ball in the first place. I'm racking my brain to remember a single thing Broady did last night and I'm coming up blank.

I really don't know what he ever did to book his ticket in the gold pass club. He's never been anything but a Michael Doughty/David Mackay-esque 'do just enough to not get dropped every week' type. At least Hartlett and Pittard used to be good.

Have to agree he's really a passenger.

So listening to the presser, Ken is blaming everything on missing goals - which I do agree with but selections aside it's our biggest problem. Bad goal kicking becomes the big elephant in the room, as soon as the players are lining up for the simple shots (which seem to be the ones we miss) they choke at the minute. If only we had a forward who can be consistently kicking goals, that way maybe the good fortune would rub off onto others, oh wait we do....... carn Ken reward form, the same spuds missing each week need a shake up. Maybe ken thinks he needs to be more consistent? :drunk: if he doesn't play this week what the hell do we have him for?

66 inside 50's for 8 goals. We have to pick a genuine leading target to stop us kicking deep to the pockets. Last half we were left with Jacko on rance up forward and the guys looked confused like the message was Jacko will be tagging him so keep it away from them but there was literally no-one else in the forward half.

My guess is that young will come in to fix up forward entries

and then what, miss?

So frustrating listening to Hinkley's press conference saying that they just need to keep working harder on execution. Yeah, or, you could remove the culprits who consistently flake out up forward and play some actual bloody targets up forward.

Was disgusted when Dougal didn't come in a month ago, I was outraged when Hombsch went out and Howard didn't come in last night, I will continue to feel physically sick until Dougal Howard is in this bloody forward line.

Sort your shit out Ken, because we are pissing games (and the season) up against the wall whilst you refuse to play any semblance of a forward line.

Eddy's been way more consistent. I thought we rewarded form?

Atley's last month to 6 weeks have been very strong. He was quiet against Sturt but apparently 6 possessions was the pass mark there.

Howard gives us extra height and flexibility. Eddy has been no better than either and I would go with youth and flexibility in the toss up between Howard and Eddy.

I would be happy to see any of Monfries, Krakouer, Johnson, Atley, Howard or even Toumpas (I know people would melt if Jimmy came in, but he doesn't waste the ball by foot nearly as much as our other midfielders) brought in.

These guys can either use the ball effectively forward of center or kick goals themselves. Krakouer or Monfries are probably the ones I'm most hopeful to see make their way back into the side. They are the two who can play defense and offense to a really high level.

I'd happily have either in but Eddy has absolutely been better than Howard in the SANFL, as well as being better than any other forward at that level.

That's because he's too scared of making a mistake to ever so much as try to do anything constructive.

Before we consider bringing players in I'd want Ken to consider moving Boak back into the ruck group, Trengove to Westhoff's defence and wing position and Westhoff into attack. And make a decision on what you're going to do with Charlie Dixon.
