I've added free kick differential and scoring accuracy to the table now. Please shout out if there's any other metric you'd like to see.

TheInjuryFactory I'm not sure how far you want this to go, I'm just gonna show the last 4 weeks from now on.

This week, the Warriors were practically a team of champions with 8 players deemed the best in their position. iGNITER and TheInjuryFactory got into their first TOTW of the season, RelaxMax, Dinsdale, FootyGuy13 and Doctor Colossus finally got something more than just an honourable mention while Randomizor and chelseacarlton got their second for the season/week!

Now to figure which 5 of the 8 I give votes to...
Now, you might point out that these rankings make it hard for forwards to get a top rung. I however, never saw a Tony Lockett style forward, only ones that can also be an inside-mid.

And with that now figured out...

Sorry I haven't posted much this season.

Honestly most days forgotten the forum exists. That's a good thing though right?

Doesn't mean I've forgotten this place though. I'll start hanging out more looking forward to footy finals. Saints looking decent.

All good mate.

Never mind the footy finals though, we have a PL crown to retain!!

Round 5
Wazzas
v Sin City Swamprats at Underground Stadium

Doctor Colossus' 250th SFA game

wbsHBk5.png

#pants2fiddy

Coach Hardie completely lost the plot this weekend.

Well this week signalled the last of our nightmare fixture to kick off Season 30, as we now finally get to the enjoyable end of the draw with a fortnight of quality opponents ahead of us. But first we had to make one last stop on the carnaval de merda, as we headed to Underground Stadium to tackle the reigning premiers, the Sin City Swamprats.

It was a week to celebrate one of our favourites, as vice captain Doctor Colossus suited up for his 250th Sweet FA match, and we looked to arrest our terrible recent milestone game form.

After a particularly quiet week from both sides, the game began promisingly enough as we were level at the first break. But the Rats started to get on top in the second, and they went into the main break with a handy four goal buffer. We broke even in the premiership quarter, with both sides kicking 5 majors, however the floodgates opened in the final stanza, as the Swampies would kick four goals to our one as they romped home to record a dominant 47 point win at home.

And just like that, and we're bundled out of the eight. But it's ok, because at least this season we've ended up out nice and early so we've got the rest of the season to come to terms with it. So we now sit in 9th place, as we head over to the BJO to tackle the 7th placed Roys who are coming off a loss of their own.

For the second week running, rookie phenom chelseacarlton (22 touches, 9 marks, 2 goals) was best afield for us, with vice captain harry000 (14 hitouts, 21 touches, 6 tackles and a goal) our next best as he won the ruck duel and gave us every opportunity to control possession throughout the match. Dinsdale (24 touches, 5 marks) was quality on the outside and he used it well, while the skipper TheInjuryFactory (19 touches, 3 marks) was used in a variety of positions through the midfield as coach Hardie desperately sought to stem the flow.

Full back Papa Juggs held the Rats spearhead to just a solitary major and got plenty of his own ball as he played off his man, while Tonga Bob on the wing was another who could hold his head high on what was a disappointing day, along with rookie FootyGuy13 (14 touches, 4 marks) who toiled manfully up forward with limited supply. On a day he'd rather forget, the milestone man Doctor Colossus (1 kick) was benched at the 7 minute mark of the first quarter and took no further part, with just a solitary kick to his name.

Probably the worst milestone game ever done. I've peaked.
This gif perfectly encapsulates the day. The dad is the sim, the kids in the blue shirts are the Rats, and you're the kid in the orange shirt.

Individual stats after Round 5:

w ladder 5.JPG

Hot takes:
  • Dinsdale is now up top according to DT points (and has moved to 3rd in the league);
  • Despite being humiliated by the sim, Doctor Colossus still has the best free kick differential (along with BEEG & Smoooothy);
  • FootyGuy13 has a schadenfreudian free kick differential of -6 (1-7);
  • TubbsFarquhar, harry000, Papa Juggs & BigJoeD_ all had season-best games;
  • iGNITER's scoring accuracy dropped 25% overnight thanks to his spitcoal-worthy 0.4;
  • chelseacarlton is making a big run at the Wooshette Medal and, along with FootyGuy13, are currently sitting in the Rising Star All-Gun team as the two half forward flanks.

Unfortunately for me mate, I promise you I support Arsenal.

Well grats on the win. Gunners showing some form over the past couple of months. From my perspective, at least it wasn't United or City.

Good luck next season.

I'm gonna be honest, at the start of the season, I thought I was brought on to win the Gun and Chelsea to win the Torch. Wasn't expecting vice versa to happen.

Three weeks in a row, chelseacarlton has been the best Half-Forward flanker in the comp. And here is was thinking 4 weeks above median or harry getting within striking distance of top rover 2 weeks running was the achievement, no the person between me and the award I'm trying to win is my own teammate.
Also, this week, learnt a few more name changes in the Warriors history. Namely, where roo2macca and Nakia are now.

Fortunately for you though, chelseacarlton needs to post in the match thread to be eligible for the Gun of the Week.
