Wazzas v Mount Buller Demons at Van Cortlandt Park
Same s**t, different season.
Welcome back Wazzas.
Welcome to all the new and returning Wazzas joining us for Season 32, and back for all of us who literally only just got over our prelim loss at the hands of the Dees to come back for the new season and, well, butter up for a loss at the hands of the Dees.
Still, we enjoyed one of the best weeks in qooty hosting the Demons at Van Cortlandt Park last week, as the competition's two premier playing lists faced off for the new season's festivities.
On field, we surrendered a first quarter lead but managed to hit back in the second to take a handy 26 point lead into the main break. But in a touching homage to the Olympics, we pulled off our best Sally Robbins impression in the third, surrendering the lead to the Demons quicker than Peter Bol to a Kenyan. We would go on to win the fourth quarter in a shootout, but ultimately fell short by an agonising 5 points to start off the season with an L.
So the loss sees us still manage to hang on to a top eight spot on percentage as the second best losers of the round, so we have that I guess?

Midfield maestro - S32 Ruckman Dav was superb in the ruck on Sunday, dominating the hitouts 19-9 and helping himself to 23 possies and a major. While veteran Lord_Flasheart was immense in the centre, his 24 disposals with 5 marks and a goal a masterclass in midfield prowess.
Fearsome up front - Returning Warrior and two time Wooshette Medallist BEEG showed his class up forward as he terrorised the Mount Buller backline in his first game back since S30, although he'd be kicking himself for missing a gettable shot in the dying minutes.
