A Swallow thought he was doing well in the third quarter of the season when he nabbed 16 out of a maximum 20 votes. Well his partner in crime on the wing FootyGuy13 said "hold my beer or whatever I drink idk" and raised him with 17 out of a possible 20 votes in the next block of four games to take a three vote lead on 37 votes with one home & away game plus finals remaining. Elton Johns Wig continued his good form to keep in touch with the leaders, in third place with 32 votes. RuckBob is one vote further back in fourth while pantskyle rounds out our top five in the penultimate leaderboard and technically can still take out an unprecedented third Frankston Rover Medal. Coney Island Warriors 10.8 (68) lost to West Coast Wonders 12.7 (79)​

There was plenty to play for in our final round match vs the Coasters. Even though finals qooty was secured, a win for us and a loss for either the Bears or the Roys would give us a home elimination final. The Wonders had even more motivation - a win for them coupled with losses for the Royals, Demons & Swamprats would see them scrape into 8th place on the ladder, while a loss along with a win for the Furies would see the Wonders pick up the wooden spoon. The week was a bit of a non-event on our behalf given our sights were already set on next week, though fourteen of us were around to chuck rocks at our opponents.

As far as the game went, Volbeat kicked the first two goals early in the first quarter, and despite see-sawing that lead remained until three quarter time before the visitors kicked five goals to one in the last stanza to run out 11 point winners.

What did that mean for the final ladder? The Bears & Roys both won their matches so even if we won we weren't likely to get a home final. And even though the Furies had a massive percentage boosting victory over the Royals, the win meant the Wonders avoided the spoon. The Swamprats also lost, however a victory for the Mountain Men meant the Coasters missed out on finals by around 2.5%. Unluckeeee!!!

Best on for us this week was undoubtedly TheInjuryFactory thanks to a 23 disposal/10 tackle/ 1 goal effort with A Swallow (22 disposals/7 marks), pantskyle (13 disposals/11 tackles) & FootyGuy13 (17 disposals/6 tackles) also industrious. Volbeat added another two goals to finish with 4 which was the most for either team, while sophomore forward Snuffaluphagus was the only other multiple goal kicker.

Who will take out this season's Frankston Rover Medal, A Swallow (on 38 votes) or FootyGuy13 (on 37 votes)? Either way, we will have a new name to etch into the honour board.

Roys FFC 2.2 8.3 14.6 16.7 (103) def Coney Island Warriors 4.2 9.4 11.4 16.5 (101)​

We were back playing finals qooty after finishing the home & away season in 7th place, which meant a trip to the BJO to face the 6th placed Roys. We were as up and about as we had been in the previous couple of months, although a couple of super spammy Roys meant that out contribution to the match thread was a touch over a quarter of the total.

The game itself was a lot closer, possibly due to the rainy conditions. A couple of goals to TheInjuryFactory plus singles to BEEG and Elton Johns Wig gave us an early 20 point lead before Roy pegged it back to 7 points at the big break. Conceding 6 goals to 2 in the third was a bold strategy, however the rope-a-dope tactic nearly paid dividends as we kicked 5 final quarter goals to Roy's two to end up falling short by two single points. Two lousy steenkin points. Our campaign ended at this juncture leaving us still searching for the ultimate success, while the Roys went on to claim premiership glory. Stupid bloody game anyway.

Coach The Donald wasn't afraid to chuck the magnets around the board during the match, meaning we had a pretty even spread of performances. From the usual suspects of BEEG (4 goals), TheInjuryFactory (19 disposal/3 tackle/2 goals), Elton Johns Wig (19 touches/5 marks/1 goal), the wingers A Swallow & FootyGuy13 doing their thing and the ruckdog doing alright as well, to TubbsFarquhar going to ruck rover (a team high 22 disposals) and full back (some would say all-SFA worthy) NaturalDisaster moving forward and kicking two goals, there were many notable efforts.

For the fourth time in Coney Island history, and the first time since harry000 did it with a young whippersnapper named Bob, we have a tie and as a result joint Frankston Rover Medallists for season 33 - the Wing Twins of A Swallow and FootyGuy13! Ending up on 38 votes each, both put up outstanding numbers over the season and are richly deserving of joining the pantheon of B&F winners at Coney Island!

Both polled in a club high 13 out of 18 games, with Guy matching pantskyle in a team high four games where he polled the maximum 5 votes while Swallow had the longest polling streak of 10 games between rounds 3 & 12.

Third place on 36 votes went to oldmate who lead at the halfway point, with Elton Johns Wig finishing his tenure in persimmon in fourth place on 35 votes and TheInjuryFactory coming home with a wet sail to poll maximum votes in the last two games to finish fifth on 31 votes. If we had have played more finals who knows what would have happened?

The top ten were rounded out by pantskyle in sixth on 30 votes, then forwards BEEG and Piggy Smalls tied in seventh place on 18 votes, veteran TubbsFarquhar in ninth on 11 votes, and tenth place tied between Lord_Flashheart & Snuffaluphagus on 6 votes apiece!
