Oppo Camp Discussion on other club's trade/draft decisions

Big whisper is Jake Carlisle ( ESS) wants out , most likely following Paddy Ryder's lead . Wouldn't mind if we chased his signature .

News this morning was reporting that 4 Melbourne clubs were all after him. If he comes to St Kilda thats a win, if another club takes him and the Injectors lose again due to their cheating drug program, another win.

As Essendon sweats on a decision from ruckman Patrick Ryder about his future, which could come as early as Friday, the Bombers are furious clubs have attempted to poach other players using the contentious breach-of-contract trigger.

Inside back page of the Herald Sun
JAMES Hird has made his first big splash in recruiting for next season as he tries to lure ex-Melbourne forward Mitch Clark to the Bombers.

Some fine double standards going on there

FWIW, a poster on the Adelaide board, who seems to be their version of Brian Speaking, is saying that they're going to "land a big fish", which he says is an intended pun. Player is Victorian.

I would have put it in the regular trade thread if I thought it was Chips ;)

Edit: Oh, I hadn't read the whole thread (500 posts since Wednesday, that's worse than ours). No way they get Cameron, all credibility lost, forget I said anything

It's fascinating, some have the sense to realise Dangerfield would have to be part of the talks, others think a mid-first round pick and a player who was traded for 37 a few years ago and has not dramatically increased his value (Lynch) is a serious offer.

If JC was to go, it would require a Judd-like trade

They would have to give up dangerfield, 9 and more. I think when it was discussed here people were saying pick 1 + extras to get him.

Anyone think Melbourne and Adelaide could work out a deal.
Melbourne give up Trengrove + Toumpas + pick 3
Adelaide give up Dangerfield + pick 10

That's right up there with a Carlton fan suggesting Jeff Garlett for Pick 11.

If Ryder and Carlisle walk you would have to put 2 and 2 together and guess that its because they dont really wanna play under golden boy Jimmy again.
That might change the Bomber supporters signs from 'STANDBYHIRD' to 'HIRDISATURD'

Or more likely, that the AFL and other clubs have conspired against them. They will say that others are taking advantage of them, not that they have done anything wrong.

Essendon of course will go straight to the courts to keep any players leaving. That means that they will have taken legal action to keep their coach, doctor, and administrators. Surely next will be going to the courts, to stop any members, or supporters leaving. Essendon is indeed a blight on the game.
