EDFL Div 1 Discussion 2024

No one will think his actions were correct , he has been penalised and the matter is over. No one was hurt .
It was a GF and he tried to change the trend of the game . It didnt work so what .
I would suggest your allegiances have come from the WRFL.
You may want to keep the word " GRUB " in your bag , Im sure it will be needed at some stage soon for the riff raff thats come over from the WRFL last year . Or maybe your memory has deleted the St Albans game last year with club officials king hitting players from behind .
I have nothing to do with the WRFL, and I never came from there either, from RDFNL actually. But it sounds like you're a WC person and your mate is a grub.

Am no Deer Park lover, but they weren't the aggressor on GF day, the agreesor shown across media outlets wasn't wearing a blue and gold jumper.

Interestingly, neither DP or StA were involved in any serious on field incidents in recent memory in the WRFL.

Maybe the "riff raff" is a little closer to home, PC.

Agree with the first sentence but it goes downhill from there.
There will always be worse acts committed, it doesn't make any lesser act acceptable.
West Coburg, Hillside & St Albans all gave themselves & this competition a blackeye last year, unfortunately in each instance plenty of good people get tarnished due to the actions of a few.
Hopefully lessons have been learned from it because "why is it always the EDFL" gets uttered far too often about a comp that prides itself on being one of the best around.

Nobody was hurt
IT WAS A DEADSET COWARD ACT!
I'd love to know how you'd feel if the bloke that was hit was your son. I'm not sure if you know or not, but we are in the year 2024, not 1984.

Poor reply mate. If want to change the trend of a game put your head over the ball, your body on the line and show courage & leadership and score!! Not do that..

Any game review's from the weekend's practice matches?
Wallan beat Craigieburn by 2 goals. Tight game all day and pretty free flowing in some hot conditions. Chris Stewart took the p155 for Wallan in the ruck and up forward, was clearly the difference in the game with still no Carlisle for Craigieburn among 5-6 others. Wallan were also missing some quality players. Good hit out for both sides in tough conditions.

Roxy beat Therry by 9-10 goals.
An improvement on their two previous hitouts, moved the ball much better.
No idea about the outs for Therry, heard still 3-4 to come in for Roxy.

Gorgievski and Tuck were excellent. Jamie's turned into a fantastic leader.

Do you think they are in a relegation battle or will avoid that?

They could find themselves in the relegation battle…

Rupo obviously lost a lot of players so will be interesting to see how they go with new coach and new look side

Keilor Park big loss to a Div 2 team is pretty ordinary so you’d think they’d be in the relegation battle

Tulla apparently not that impressive against Burnside either

Not sure if it says more about Div 1 teams or if Div 2 is just a better standard than it used to be

Oak park a bit of an unknown in this division

Craigieburn and Moonee Valley seem to have recruited well so should avoid relegation battle and be pushing for finals

The builder doing the Tulla build has gone bust.

Council looking to appoint new builder

So what is the plan for Tulla 2024? Home games at Jacana again? Have seen many clubs play out of temp shed change rooms over the years while new rooms were being built, not sure why that was never set up for the club at Tulla’s ground.

You'd think Tulla would use Jacanas ground again just to be on the safe side. What a stuff around

Why would you set up portables when you have a good ground and rooms down the road to use at Jacana?

I was told last night playing at Tulla with portables & big marquee set up.
That was the setup towards the end of 2022. Players and Members hated it. Then the volunteers hated being at Jacana.
Terrible position the council has put Tulla in and they haven’t held back on player spending this season like they did last year. Hope they can pay the bills

Theres nothing quite like playing on your own ground Bang. Im sure if you asked the players they would prefer to play on there home deck out of portable change rooms than on someone else's ground. The change rooms are not such a big deal but more so the social rooms/canteen where it can make it tough on the club.

Incorrect. Back half of 2022 there were no temp social rooms set up. They had an undercover area and that’s it. Opposition had portables for change rooms.

In 2023 the home change rooms were also under construction.

2024 the home change rooms are complete. So no change for Tullamarine but opposition clubs will be in a portable. The council are also providing a double portable that will hold 50 people that will be in the car park and used as a temp social rooms so the club can still operate out of. So very different to back end of 2022.

The club want to be at “home” and not at Jacana.
