Four very important players who absolutely pick and choose by the week when they want to put a shift in defensively.

Obviously there's more than them falling short of the mark, but these four are so important for our side. Three of them are huge money players and one is a staple in our midfield, and it doesn't seem to be a coincidence that we get pantsed every time they don't crack in without the footy.

I get it's never linear, and sides can be belted that are good sides (Sydney in gfs ffs) or even Sydney getting smashed by Port towards the end of last year.

But those good teams always show up weeks later with wins against at least half decent teams as well. We can't beat anyone - the opposition generally beat themselves and let us win. Midfield got pantsed.

It's just that simple. The game was won and lost in the midfield and every single midfielder for us other than LDU had an absolute stinker.

You are right, and I turned off the game early in the 3rd quarter because I didn't want to be in a bad mood with people coming, but I disagree with Davies-Uniacke. You're right the midfield got belted but so did he, in the same way again. We could play Hawthorn in 6 weeks and we'd still get beaten the same way. It's work rate. We have too many lazy players and he's one of the main culprits. He looks a million dollars when he get's on the end of one but other than that he may as well not even be there. As a leader in particularly financially, he's pretty underwhelming. He's not alone, but it is noticeable. Can't be fitness levels, he's had nearly 10 years in the system.
