Carrying a few underdone/out of form players and still managed to defeat Port on their interstate turf under trying conditions. That's a good sign.

Can't complain about that win but they'll be a few under the microscope. You know who they are.

Most of us do, yeah.

Amazing win to put away those flogs at their home ground. Jezza was on fire. So deadly around goal. Hawk and Rohan were great too! Responded to every challenge and finished off in style! Great team effort!

We won tonight despite O’Connor being ineffective. Narkle would have been a better option. Fortunately we were good enough anyway.

Good signs though with competition for spots with Guthrie, Miers, Simpson and Narkle all missing.

He played a tagging role on Boak and was very good in that role. Narkle isn't a tagger so the comparison is pointless.

Boys cracked in hard. Good across the board, Close very clean. Dahl and Rats were good despite the selection melts. Narkle looks sad, knee strapped up though.

Tuohy worse on ground for mine, I reckon he gave up 5 goals without even getting a touch on his man, plus one dumb kick in.

Yep, we won. And that’s all that counts. But be under no illusion that O’Connor in any way contributed to that win. Boak had 27 touches and took him to the cleaners. He wasn’t ready. If it’s good enough for others to find form in the VFL it’s good enough for him. He’s no star.

Very happy to get the win though.

Match committee lucky we got the win.

Good to shut the port ferals up. EAD.

The thing is, with Port, Bulldogs and Lions in a row, every game required our best team in post-haste. Yes, they may have been underdone and will improve every game with match conditioning, particularly Danger and O’Connor, but the risk HAD to be taken IMO.
