I'd throw caution to the wind next week. Bring someone like Tarca in as a small forward to debut. Bring some energy. If we do the same thing again we'll lose so lets try something different. Drop a defender. Maybe even two. Bring two more mids in.

Lack of pace, playing zone accentuated that. Scott has to ditch the leaking zone that doesn't hold up in finals. Narkle in for Atkins or Dahlhaus who hardly laid a tackle. Narkle gives us that extra midfielder if Dangerfield goes forward. Clark in for Taylor or Henry.Ugly night...had the chances, then couldn't break Port's high-up defensive structures when it mattered.
Our lack of foot-pace when without the ball is still a major issue - just no run.
Port deserved the win, but we're still in it. Without hope, there's nothing.
Parfitt was among our best.
Yep. Bitterly frustrated tonight but I am nowhere near throwing in the towel. It hurts and sucks to see the same result of us collapsing in finals but heck me, look at some other clubs. Geelong still brings me a lot of joy.And then there are those supporters who stick with their team, even when it is not fun and that team almost folds due to finances. It may even take them 44 years to see them win a premiership, but the real supporters stick fast. That is the difference between them and the fair weather supporters.

I think its been around for about 100 years...
1 plays 4. They finsihed on top of the ladder.
Its not rocket science nor is it new.
This season has a pandemic running as well so the home games concept in HA season has been whacky.
But PA playing this Qf at home was eanred by them and had nothing to do with us losing.
Mthc Duncan on KROCK said we were beaten contest to contest. Thats work rate to the core.
Ground had nothing to do wth it. PA earned it.
GO Catters
Why didn't he play the Hawkins Island....
Henry doesn't deserve to pull the hoops on ever again.
Kolodjashnij tonight put together one of the worst finals performances I have seen in recent memory from a Geelong player.
Miers was extremely disapppointing as well.
Henderson well played. Arguably his best game for the Cats.
With respect but these threads do my head inConversion in front of goal was our biggest issue tonight; Port made the most of their opportunities & we sh*t the bed when it came to our chances
Across the match we had more scoring shots than Port - 13 (P) vs 17 (C), and more scoring shots in 3 of the 4 quarters
Q1-
Port: 2.1 13 (3 scoring shots)
Cats: 1.4 10, (5 scoring shots) add in Hawkins missed shot & what should have been a set shot for Parfitt after the siren if not for the handball to Ablett, and that's 7 shots on goal in the first quarter
Port with less scoring shots win the quarter by 3 points
Q2-
Port: 2.1 13 (3 scoring shots again)
Cats: 2.3 15 (another 5 scoring shots
Cats win the second quarter by 2 points, but trail at half time even after 10 scoring shots to 6
Q3-
Port: 3.2 20 (5 scoring shots)
Cats: 1.1 7 (2 scoring shots)
Port finally have more scoring shots and they make it count winning the quarter by 13 points
Q4-
Port: 2.0 12 (2 scoring shots)
Cats: 1.4 10 (5 scoring shots, just like the first quarter)
Port win the quarter by 2 points making the most of their chances
The only quarter we genuinely struggled to get the ball forward was the 3rd quarter, but we should have gone in at half time 3 or 4 goals up at least and you never know how that 3rd quarter then plays out.
It was also clear during that first half that when we kicked a goal it shut up the crowd, and by not getting a run on and kicking away when we had our chances in the first half we shot ourselves in the foot

Mocked, banned, driven away from the board.
Because they wanted the best for the club.
sh*t game terrible coaching, Geelong chocked it in the first half should have been 4 goals up.
The crowd played a huge part in Port winning that, and its unjust the game was in Adelaide. Just like tomorrow is wrong for the game to be in Perth and for Richmond to play Brisbane in Brisbane. These finals should have been played at Neutral cites, Port Brisbane West Coast have not earned home finals from a fair and even playing field.
We'll go out in straight sets. Nothing surer. WC will flog us.
Henderson was good but he came into the pack, went the spoil, took out himself, Dixon and Taylor, punched the ball to their goalsquare and Motlop ran on for a cheap goal.Just 2 things that absolutely piss me off
how many times week in week out going forward do we have 4 forwards going for a mark and no one staying down
Also, people saying our back lines continuity is elite need to start watching how many times our defenders take each other out then it resulting in a goal.
Happens 2/3 times every week
He
Was
Crap
16 possessions @ 43% is woeful. Was a liability.
Agree to disagree atm. He needs more time.
Miers either plays deep as a small forward or not at all.
I especially liked that bit where he layed two tackles. Two tackles....Atkins played well tonight but he isn't a small forward. He's a midfielder. We need a crumbing small forward.
I just think its just another year with us in finals, I hope in wrong but iv said it all year...You don't get that in finals.
Where else would you play it? Port earned a home final. Matches can be played in Adelaide. Therefore they earned a home final. Why would they be forced to play in QLD?Ok I will again ask this question that you keep ignoring.
Did Port Adelaide earn a final in a fair and even fixture, or were they advantaged?
Answer the question, your not Dan Andrews.
And the game being in port had nothing to do with us losing, are you taking the piss?
Nah we will beat them then lose to Richmond same as last yearm
