I agree that that's exactly what I expected him to be. Yet the way this board has talked about him sometimes you'd think he has potential to waltz into our 2007 side. He's just another waste of a reasonably high pick if you ask me though. I look forward to his breakout game in 2028 though.

Yes mate but that's exactly my point, so many on here, the large majority in fact, don't rate him. And even back in the early days, those who did still never thought of him as Danger/Selwood replacement.

So to continue, why are so many so surprised that a player who was never going to be any more than a 3rd of 4th string mid is still that in his 4th season? And due to it being his 4th season, it causes the inconsistency that some here find infuriating.

Come on mate. You've been around long enough.
Surely you giggled at some of stuff Nic Nat did.

I looked a replays trying to fault a cat player. Nup, not there. He's just too good.

He's the Jordan of footy. Just doesn't play enough due to injury.
He aint even in the top 4 rucks of the decade.

Not wanting to hit a guy when he's down (and may be doubtful for our match against North), but should it be a concern that Constable played only 51% TOG?

I know he went off towards the end of the game having been on the receiving end of that bump; but that was with maybe 5 minutes of game time, so that still means a lot of time on the bench earlier in the match

The game had 24 centre bounces (if my maths is correct), and if clearance & contested work is meant to be a strength, then surely this match was a good opportunity for him to show that?

Wonder if there's a reason behind his low game time tonight or it's just how things played out? He had 16 disposals at 68% (vast improvement from the shit conditions of Mondays match), so clearly no issues finding the ball - but surely we want to start seeing less time on the bench and more time on the ground

You forgot Blicavs and Rohan.

Blicavs was fine considering he is playing out of position. In his best position he is bankable.

Rohan I agree with you though.

Yeh' I had hopes of seeing Kolo make it but he's such a woeful user of the footy. Is not a solid mark either.

By comparison, Stewart is brilliant. Is as good as it gets in every aspect of his game.
Wins the footy like Scarlett did in his heyday and is as assured defensively as any of the best defenders in the competition right now. You always feel comfortable when he gets the ball.

Stewart is a beauty. No comparison between the two. I’m sick of Kolo having that “what happened?” look on his face nearly every big game.

Agree.

People are deluded if they think he will make it. Compare him to a bloke like Ben King. Sav is so far off the mark it's not funny
I agree that there is doubt over whether he’ll make it but he actually contributes more than Ben King at the moment. What option do we have given our ruck situation, as freakin usual

Blicavs is always rubbish in the ruck. But at least he is useful across the wing and backline. I don't blame Esava. I blame Scott for playing Esava.
Yeah blicavs was totally useful in his 10 possessions that came with some horrific team killing turnovers.

atleast esava offersa marking option. Blicavs doesnt.

I get the sense he himself doesn't think too highly of himself. He just plays his game and there is no banter or showboating going on (unlike a certain somebody in our team).

The way he gets up that high, with all that weight behind him, and does these little deft touches to his midfielders, it's quite entertaining to watch.
It really must be like watching Polly Framer all over again but minus the possession tally that Polly would rack up weekly.

On a positive note, Close actually impressed me more tonight than he did on debut last week, even though the hype was bigger against Freo. Thought he did a few clever things tonight.

Agree. I think he's taken Atkins spot myself. He certainly offers more than what Atkins does.

NicNat is the best ruck in the game. Sav has 30 games or so...

There was always gonna be a hard task.

Go Catters

overall the rucking side of it no issues... he might have to focus a little more on the follow up but thats not what hurt us as much as it might have ... Blitz in the ruck cant have made it easier at the end either ...

Not sure about Fogarty. Pretty limited. Still young but think Wells stuffed that first pick. Again.
He won't develop if the MC won't play him where he belongs.
Sitting in a forward pocket will only see him fail.

Cocky in for Fogarty next week, Selwood for Constable.

Need some grunt!!!
They're going to wait another 3 years to make sure Cocky is right. We need to be cautious.
