G'day board, I thought I'd post this just to get an idea of who was on Twitter

I got an account earlier today, I have found about 12 port players it's pretty easy to do.

I have found it pretty interesting, Paul stewart wrote that he was just out of surgery on his hip and was looking forward to rehab.

Players are organisijng when to catch up and when to visit their mates in hospital, it appears boaky has gone into hospital recently.

Il sure you are all familiar but I just thought I'd share my experiences. The good thing is that unlike facebook the person on the other end doesn't need to ok your request, you just click that your a folllower of them and away you go.

For anyone not believing players still play for the club .... take a look at some of chappy's twitters.

Agreed. Only just started using my twitter account last week and have been following Chappy / Sala. I feel like a dirty stalker but been very entertaining reading. Chappy's a machine! Constantly tweeting about what fitness work he's going to be doing and inviting the other fellas to get involved. Tweeted this today at 8:26:

Might do the surgery rounds tomorrow I think. Go and see Ebo, Stewy, Boaky.... The list goes on! They need the company though.

The guy has club captain written all over him.

One of the funniest days I've had on the internet involved her and a certain Catfish.

You know what would be simple yet great PR, In these times of Obesity and the big push of a healthly life style, why not hold a "Pre Season with Port". Actually someone please send me Mark Haysman's email address. We could have one of the fitness guys talk to us the first week about a simple fitness program, explain a healthly life style and talk about nutritionous foods. The following weeks we could have one player each week talk about their faviroute fitness drill and there fav meal. Uploaded to the website, we can register, maybe charge a little coin once off, keep our weights etc.

Have Arms like Chad, Abs like Thomas the Tank, Run like Kane, Bench with Bob, Lessons on Abuse with Action.

As for Twitter, I love the fact we can see the other side of these guys, Nothing better for a supporter to see these guys as equals not Idols.

if any of you arent following harry obrien you should - having had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times, and hearing him speak at some functions - he really is a cut above anyone else on that team as far as being a quality human being goes

Josh Mahoney did something similar to this for a year or two - he wrote articles on the Port site about pre-season training and maybe through the season as well. I think Dewy might have done it at some stage too. Someone else might remember more. I think it was more of a diary sort of thing though - I didn't read it much.

If you looked at the Tweets you would so easily realize they were not fake.

Talking about heading out to Red Square for drinks, posting photos of their kids birthdays, Davenport constantly going on about how much of a legend he is.

I would bet my house and car that these are from the players themselves.

Going back a month or two there were only a couple of the boys on Twitter, it seems they are either telling each other to jump on, or the club perhaps mentioned it aswell. Either way, it is definately the boys posting.
