B&F twice in Premiership years. Best finals player another season.

Played on and beat the best KPF while undersized....still providing a chop out for his other backmen and winning the ball and providing great rebound. Too often considered a loose man/3rd up when in actuality his great skill was beating his opponent but also knowing when to be there for his team mates.

From 2010-2015 in top 3 AFL backmen with Harry Taylor and Alex Rance IMO. Under rated by AA selectors and opposition supporters and sadly by a reasonable number of his own supporters.

Dead set gun.

It been said already but 2 x B & F's in premiership years is massive. Often battled against forwards significantly larger than him and performed admirably.
At his best absolute gun and key pillar in our premiership teams. Well done Gibbo on a brilliant career!

Damn. Sad face. I hoped he would go out playing, not quietly.

Great player. We had to recruit him to stop him nullifying Buddy :). Dominant in our premiership years but truly appreciated his endeavour before Lake arrived when he battled hard in an undersized backline.

Dead set gun of a player, who will be missed.

Unheralded for just how good he was at beating a man, helping others and driving us from half back....especially considering he's a 2x Premeirship year B&F winner. That puts him in absolutely elite company.

Tremendous player. Critically underrated externally but those 2 B&Fs in premiership years tell the story of his career.

He's even underrated among Hawthorn fans. He won as many B&Fs as Hodge, more than Franklin or anyone he played footy with other than Sam Mitchell.

A genuine champion of the Hawthorn footy club. Read the play superbly, could play on talls or smalls or make himself dangerous as a spare in defence, rarely made mistakes with the ball in hand and had an incredible ability to evade tacklers and dispose of the ball.

Well done Josh.

A champion of the Hawthorn football club and a huge part of our success. He was a key to our defense and had the rare ability to get a fist into a marking contest when he had no right to do so. Hopefully he can get back for round 23 and finish off his career with one last game, he deserves the chance.

Geez we've lost some seriously talented players this last 12 months!
