Part of me thinks the Celtics flirted with the idea of allowing Philly to retain the longest losing streak in perpetuity.

Not sure Johnny Most would have agreed with it.

Luckily the bench is less of a factor come playoffs.

Still think you need a go-to player off the bench when the whips are cracking.

Look at the last few champs:

Denver 2023 - Brown
Warriors 2022 - Poole
Bucks 2021 - Portis
Lakers 2020 - Kuzma
Raptors 2019 - VanVleet

Also impedes your ability to manage players and their minutes when the replacements are subpar.

Honestly, they're still the odds-on favourite at this stage, but I'd have much more faith in them if they had another solid bench player or two. A 37 y/o Horford, Hauser and Pritchard don't inspire a ton of confidence.

White's defense has been tremendous. Would be very close imo.
