The AFL is set to return in just over a week, but Channel 7 have decided to pull the pin on two popular footy shows.

Talking Footy and Game Day both faced the axe on Wednesday with the network shelving the shows due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
“As a consequence of COVID-19 we have seen tough and difficult decisions being made right across sport and we at Seven are no different,” Channel 7’s head of network sport Lewis Martin told AFL Media.
“Talking Footy and Game Day have set the agenda in AFL circles for so many years and we hope with favourable conditions returning this will be a temporary hiatus for both.”

They really are such a fu** up of a club. They were gifted the adulation and goodwill of 2 thirds of the masses and the majority of the media/business connections of this state and they just continue to self inflict harm on themselves. They are bewilderingly bad at most things despite having a huge leg up. You look at West Coast and think what are these idiots doing? The soul of that club is rotten.
Is it a club wide thing, or an Aboriginal player thing? Troy Bond apparently spends more time at Alberton with ex Maggies team mates, his brother and some ex Power players than he does at the crows. The camp fractured the Aboriginal guys from the others. Bunji split with Hewitt over Aboriginal ceremonial cultural issues in his video in 2005, asked him not to show it, Hewitt ignored him and that's when the McLeod - Edwards split started. IIRC McLeod took Hewitt to court about the DVD contents.

“It’s clear that our people want this guernsey worn in the Round 2 Showdown"

technically not true (our people want it worn every game) but yeah. the club doesn't want to rock the boat so there will still be a big dragged out push to wear the PBs full time but cool that we're wearing them in our next game for sure!!

They do love an injunction

So rooshito thinks no player feels welcome back at there own club? Taking the piss or?

Provided we capitalise in the short term with some semblance of on field success. They give us so many opportunities to look like a great club in comparison. We usually butcher it.
Winning premierships and contesting finals every single year will do it for us. This is all that's required, a yearly chance at a premiership.

There was a running joke on the Triple M's Rush Hour for a while about Andrew Jarman turning up at West Lakes and getting a "And who are you?" from the people on the front desk.

Now they always played it off as him getting smacked by Karma for the way he acts like he owns the place, but maybe that was actually a deeper thing.

Wasn’t McLeod in Team Clijsters and Edwards in Team Hewitt? And do you remember when Matty Primus invited Hewitt to come to Alberton to rev up the boys! What was he thinking?

Now,
The haves continue to have 😡
Meanwhile we have the SMA and SACA 😡

This really is bullshit. The AFL has taken such a strong 'equal' stance, that training for ALL teams was delayed.

However, some clubs will be being paid for empty stadiums - while some will probably be paying (how much will it cost us for the showdown?).

Sigh. It feels like this year has driven a wedge through all societies, football included.

Spot on

West Coast Eagles star Nic Naitanui has delivered a perfect take-down to people who comment “all” and “white” lives matter.

Naitanui, like many others, had seen enough and decided to put those using the response in their place with a perfect analogy.

“All love from my end but “Saying all lives matter is like going to a cancer fundraiser and saying there are other diseases” yes every life matters and is of equal importance/significance but right now we are highlighting black lives. That’s just my opinion as a black man,” he tweeted.

Gold Coast Suns star forward Aaron Hall joined the ‘Blackout Tuesday’ campaign on Instagram by uploading a black square which contained the phrase: “Muted. Not Silent”.

However not long after sharing the post, one user decided to chime in with the comment: “white lives matter as well, Aaron”.

“You are not hearing the cry of black people or you don’t care,” Hall said.

“You are a part of the privileged community that hasn’t suffered from racism, and because it’s not about you, you’re insecure and you choose to make a statement that makes it about you.

Had a two day seminar at work a couple of years back where the convenors labelled non-indigenous people as priviledged white supremacists, irrespective of whether the white people there supported aboriginal concerns.

Was pretty much non stop vindictive, and not trying to seek collaboration and constructive solutions going forward between everyone there.

Probs unsurprisingly, failed to galvanise much enthusiasm, even from a couple of indigenous participants.

Because we all see it for what it is...

This is why we should be demanding a better oval deal and for the least part of our worries, wearing the bloody jumper we should be wearing...

Squeaky wheel gets the oil, sadly KT, Koch and the board can’t find the aisle where the WD40 is located.

Mind your AFL star privilege, NicNat

So the club's that actually get the home ground advantage from the AFL deal until 2057, are also the ones receiving money's due to the good will of the deal?

Whats that? These are also the club's that whinge that other club's get too much handouts whilst also having a monopoly on national FTA coverage?

* I wish the AFL was ran like the NBA or the premier league sometimes

These clubs don't get that being continuously in primetime slots is a handout. Some say that you have to earn it, but clearly Carlton for example makes that statement false.
