It's a place where they induct greats such as Malcom Bight.

This. Had their chance. Twice. Blew it both times despite being strong favourites, especially in 1996.

You know how classic games and plays of American Football get given nicknames that everyone instantly recognises as that game/play? The Ice Bowl (1967 NFL Championship Game) and the Music City Miracle (2000 AFC Wild Card Game), for instance.

Well, I move that the 1996 SANFL Grand Final be forever known as the Bringing An Ewok To The Last Seconds of Alderaan Bowl.

PORT ADELAIDE

Hey, you! That's right, you stupid Elizabethan bastards! That's right! Say hello to Alberton, and Port *in' Adelaide! You stupid SANFascist pigs! Look at you! You have Conway! What were you thinking? Dragging our asses half way around Port Road, interrupting our lives... For what, you ignorant, servile scum! What the * are we doing here?

Was Mead originally a ruckman or was Poole suspended? Never realised he played that position

Suspended, but Meady did ruck a fair bit at SANFL level. Pretty much anyone who was 190+cms did at some stage in those days.

Ah poor Darryl, always in the umpires' bad books. A cult hero if ever there was one

It's got definite potential if you're a smart club, but if you use it poorly you could hurt your club for a long time.
If it was in last year the AFL would have pressured us to give last years and this year's first round pick for Ryder. And even with Ken and Burgess we'd be aiming for finals, not a flag, as Choco and/or Primus ensured we wouldn't get Wingard and/or Wines as they traded picks to get some average players who'd propped up us enough to get out of the very bottom of the table and make their record look not so s**t.

Legend has it he was doing doughnuts on the Port Districts Oval one night after a premiership win and accidentally drove the ute through the social club wall.

Titus O'Reilly nails it most of the time. My personal fave recently is when the Bulldogs betting scandal broke. He tweeted:

"The AFL became suspicious when money was placed on Melbourne to win a game"
