When Karl Amon left Port, he said Hawthorn had a list capable of winning a premiership. That comment has not aged well.

They haven’t won away since the Russell Ebert Tribute Game.

Sloane actually comes across as a bit of a weird one to even be at the Crows. His personality/persona is far too nice and level headed for that club.

Needs to be doing stupid celebrations when 60+ up against North.

Sloane is type of heart soul club guy that all teams need, at best was damaging gut runner. made best decision for his life and family , risking blindness isnt worth it.

I seem to remember a draw or two against Brisbane when both teams were flying in to the early 2000s.

Could be wrong.
Those two draws were in our early AFL years. Both at the Gabba when there was a dog track there. I remember one draw - we were sitting on a good winning margin and then things went wrong. Dewey took the kick out from full back and instead of blasting the ball 65 metres down to the centre wing he tried a short pass and our guy wasn’t ready but the Brissy guy was. The result was goal and a draw.
Ah the dog track, Kenny would have been in his element!

Just so we’re clear I’m no happy clapper & know we did very well against top 4 in the Jack/Chocco years.

Just waiting for kock to raise this…

Geelong at 7-0 have proved 2023 was just their gap year, not a decline trend started.

This century, their premiership years first 7 games;

2007 4-3 started season 2-3 and then went 19-1 inc finals
2009 7-0
2011 7-0
2022 4-3

They were 7-0 and only lost 1 game, in Rd 9, before choking in the 2008 Grand Final.

You can just about put your money on a Victorian team winning the flag. A Monash on Geelong at $5.00 isn't a sure bet, but its pretty safe. Carlton aren't ready to win a flag, not sold on Melbourne, and Collingwood is the best chance to be the Vic flag winner after Geelong, but they aren't playing like last year.
