Society/Culture Post-scarcity society: how do we deal with it?

Snake_Baker we are not hard wired to get more money. We are wired so our genes will survive our bodies.

Isn't that pretty much what I stated?

Unfortunately the "look at that new shiny thing" response to novelty is being abused for marketing things we don't need.

So maybe even with our basic needs met, we might continue competing to present evidence of our dominance in our cars and phones.

Or it will be in our art or our generosity. Who knows?

I think marketing has caught on to Freud:

"Civilization is built on blocked, redirected and channeled sexual impulse, because men will work for sex."
