If it were up to me I'd also drop Milera after a pretty nothing performance against the Roos and give Nankervis another opportunity.
If you are after selection integrity then Nankervis is next in line and his position is currently held by Milera

The coaching group has 2 choices

Keep Milera and hope he steps up again

Replace Milera with Nankervis - selection integrity

I know which one I would do and I know which one the coaches will do

On Tex I think the '' we will rest him from long flights '' will go out the window

Itll be very interesting to see what they do.

I think its time for Milera to go back to the 2s and find form/confidence, and Nank had a day out against very poor oppo, but he deserves to be in the side regardless.

Butts was ordinary at best on the weekend.

Who was he matched up on? I didn't watch the SANFL, but seeing that West Adelaide kicked 4 goals and the only player to have more than one shot on goal was 179cm Dylan McCormack - its hard to see how he was ordinary defensively (which is exactly what we need him for against the Suns).

We put him in the backlines because he wasnt a good forward.

Pretty simple.
Show where that happened.
You are claiming he was tried in the forward line and failed, so he was put in the backline. I'm not sure why a player you would out a shit player into defence just because he didn't cut it in the forward line.
Now get me those stats that show he was tried in the forwardlines a failed.
You are making the claim, you should be able to back it up.

win against the Suns and we are top after 4 rounds. Simple equation, hard to execute. Get it done lads

We have lost the last 4 against the Suns on the road. This is going to be a massive challenge.

Feels a little like Rd 6, 2012 for me. Big test and a big win against a quality opponent on the road could be season defining.

He played forward for most of his first 2-3 years in the system and has kicked 30 goals in 100 games.

If that doesnt tell you enough then I dont know what will. Yes he was a talented small forward in his draft year, no question about that but it has little bearing on his time as an AFL footballer now.

He needs to go back to the SANFL, find the pace and the space to lift the confidence in himself.

Bit concerned about Tex.
Was wobbly to start yesterday and there was plenty of murmuring in my section of the crowd. But he came good and had a typical clever, powerful performance. And I love the way the younger players respond to him and his presence on the ground.

Given his age and our responsibility to manage him, we need to look very closely at him travelling to the Gold Coast to play what will be a very tough game, then following up 5 days later against Geelong which is a showcase event. We really need him for both but may have to make a choice!

Which one? I'd rest him this week so he plays the Geelong game. Then he has a nine day rest before another home game.

His key defensive mate was much more of a worry TBH.

Bors didn't do much wrong at all.

Sounds like Buttsy wasn't overly impressive in the SANFL game either.
So you claim Butts got beat by his opponent but you didn't even watch the game...

For me, the resting Tex thing isn't just the long flight, but the fact that we'll be playing in the middle of the day in likely high heat and humidity. We then have to come off a 5 day break after that to play Geelong on Thursday next week.

Even if it wasn't in Queensland, those other factors would be enough for me to think that Tex can't (or shouldn't) play both Gold Coast and Geelong. So if we're going to (or at least should be going to) rest him for one, we might as well also save him the flight, given his back issues in recent years.

I don't think any of us would expect him to be playing more than 75% of games this year anyway, so resting him for 1 week out of the first 4 would be in line with that.

It's early season. He has played 2 and a half games so far. Take him to GC and then play him against Geelong and GWS.

Rest him for the game against Freo in Perth and he will have 14 days to recover.

I’m not understanding this week why people are having a crack at him.
The comments at the time criticizing him when he was off his man who marked and goaled was because he was trying to cover for Keane who was MIA, were off the mark.

Don't think anyone is being overly negative on him.

Just more of the fact that there are better options.

I'd go Pedlar and Nankervis in for Milera and Rachele. Think Milera needs to find touch and Nankervis form cannot be ignored for any longer.

However, I think they will be conservative and just bring Nankervis in for Rachele and shuffle a few players around.

He played in his first 24 games in the forward line and was ONLY moved back into defence to cover for Brodie Smith when he was injured. It had nothing to do with him not performing in the forward line so they just moved him to defence.
He was moved out of necessity and no due to not performing on field. He would have been sent back to the 2nds if he wasn't playing well.

Yeah there’s enough of “not fit” “no good” comments
Are there though? There’s butts and that’s it.

West Adelaide had:

27 Inside 50s for the game.
0.6 at 3 quarter time with 4.7 their final score.

Not a heck of a lot to do.
And this is the only time Scully threatened the goalscorer...an over the back ball to the player's advantage that Scully ran onto in the goal square

Resting Tex for a long flight with a 5 day break to come does make good sense to me. You want him primed for the Cats.

They have lost Charlie Ballard for the season too.
