Agreed. Why is Sid wasting away in the SANFL - a league he is too good for.

Sid will get there. just not performing right now. Yes its coaching but honestly who are we going to sacrifice for the future at the expense of immediate selection. Remember selection integrity is a thing and ultimately even rookies need to perform at some stage to keep their spot.

Seriously WTFF?

Thinking of this nature is why we haven’t played finals in nearly a decade.

Just a week ago he came on way too late in the Freo match and then fronted up for the Magoos a couple of days later and knocked up 29 possessions in 3/4 of a game.

Not performing right now…kiss my hairy arse son, what the **** does he need to do to get a look?

We are not playing in a GF this year, we should be getting games into players who will. If we can’t afford to carry Curt’s and Drapes all season long them we are a dumb as **** football club only existing to justify our stupid extension of our most losingest coach ever.

Im sorry I must have missed where I had decision making abilities at the Adelaide football club. **** me!

The coaches clearly think differently from your opinion. Not sure what I have anything to do with it. So Son.....have a good hard look at yourself before you target me again in a nonsense whining post like I had something to do with it.

I am all for going all out for the finals this year, but with two caveats - Draper and Curtin play every game possible (whilst understanding they might need a 1-2 game rest).

Sid needs to come in. I dont care where he plays on the field - but he needs to be out there.

but again, who are we dropping

To be honest - Sid would be in my top 10-15picked every week.

Our biggest hole on our list is we lack a pure, elite, natural midfielder.

A midfielder like Serong, Butters, Petracca, Bont, Bailey Smith etc.

Our best chance to get one of these players is SID. Play him at all costs and get him up to 50 games ASAP.

EDIT - And drop anyone not named: ROB, Butts, Keane, Woz, Max, Rankine, TT, Rachele, FOG, Dawson, Soligo, Curtin, Peatling.

Butters played 19 games in his first year and had way more of an impact than Draper
Serong played just 14 games
Petracca played 17 games.

Your narrative needs work!

Rising star time on ground %
Sid ranks #30
Levi Ashcroft is #4

Both picked consecutively in the same draft.
Ashcroft getting considerably more time on ground, playing for the reigning premiers.

should really be given a run of 5 full games at least to see his true form. Im not against his selection. I can just understand where the club is coming from, rightly or wrongly. At this stage though im not crying he isnt selected.

What a ridiculous post, you’re defending his non selection, stating he’s not performing, clearly that’s why he’s addressing your post.

You’re trying to have it both ways, “should really” “can understand” to follow from your earlier post “not performing” “selection integrity”.

You’re all over the place

Good changes, so nohing to complain about. But we could have been a little bit more forward thinking in regards to exposing players and rotating them through. Schoenberg and Pedlar as sub instead of Berry to expose them to some afl level football, and see if they're worth keeping.

We've seen enough of Harry to know he's not AFL level

What the hell are you on about? He’s saying we should be playing Draper, just like the players you’ve mentioned, given Draper’s games, mostly as sub, he’s not going go get near their games played and that’s the point, his narrative is fine, you’ve just supported it!

I assume what he was saying is that he was on track to play a similar number of games as those guys. I'm still hopeful he will play 15+ games this year, which I think would be fine. The risk is that he spends the next two months in the SANFL while there are few injuries and the fringe guys play well.

I think he's competing with Berry and Taylor at the moment for the last two spots of that kind in the team, and will come back in if either of those guys has a quiet game or if there's an injury. I don't think that will thrill posters here either but I don't see an obvious path otherwise, and given that he's fit and so on I'd prioritise Draper out of that group. Harsh, since both were excellent last week.

Also, using selection night to 'have a look' at fringe players on the list when you're 5-3 and have no injuries would be dumb. Imagine being someone like Berry, performing well as the sub one week and then getting dropped so the club can expose someone to AFL football to see if they are worth keeping on the list.

The games count significantly misleads. Sid is getting a quarter at a time, with little midfield exposure.

That's not 'fine'. That's an awful way to handle our biggest investment in midfield.

im not arguing. im just saying not every top rookie plays every game in their first year. I can see why the coaches are taking this route and im not saying its right or wrong. only time will tell.
