Woke up this morning and was not even the slightest pissed off. Not sure if this is a good thing or not. We were the better side, albeit we made the typical mistakes we somehow find a way of doing every game, but it was the courage to stand with 3 players unavailable at half time that really impressed me. One of Gibcus or Young not going down would have allowed Balta to stay forward and we win by 2-3 goals. Impartial umpiring and we win by 6-7 goals.

Can see a lot of similarities between Colonwood's "close games" in 2022, and Freeton's last 5 games. AFL / Umps clearly have a favorite to win the flag as they did last year. Even my Freeton's fanbois are not "up and about" today.... They are not as dumb as they look and are well aware they got a free ride last night.

Port have gone in with only Marshall, Dixon Finlayson this week who knows the following. Miller and Dixon could be a decent match up. Broad pulled Cameron's pants down so hopefully can handle Marshall. Grimes and Brown will have to alternate on Finlayson.

We need another tall though just in case we cook Nank and or Lynch. It's a long season. A bye sooner would've been a godsend. Lynch can't be played anywhere near 90% again for a couple of months or we'll end his career. Gonna have to play Naismith or Kozitsche down back and Miller up fwd/ ruck? Surely Kozitsche can spoil???

Felling many emotions, wasnt to upset which i normally am losing close games but proud of the boys with 3 down and still fighting till the end. Balta going back in the last (due to gibbo and young off) did hurt our structure because he was an aerial threat up froward before that and lynch was double teamed, more times than not in the last .

All i will say is the umpires decided that game in the last. Balta runs down owies, owies throws himself forward and gets the free and goal = criminal. Perfect tackle and should've been rewarded.
Baker even though he gave away the 50 the ump gives dekoning a 70 meter penalty which was ridicules and he goaled.

Don't want to say to much about certain players as im sure many have already but Mansell ffs another costly miss 5 meters out. Bring in someone like Clarke who has skill and can finish off his work. It was a crucial part of the game late in the 3rd, would've put us 13 points up heading into the last.
