Always exciting to see any player make their debut. Good luck to young Haskett. Big ask for that selected WA bowling attack though...with Richardson, Kelly, Paris, Morris and Behrendorf missing....would think Vic are more then slight favourites here to win this match.

Not expecting much from WA with that line-up

Something like 16 players missing currently from the squad
Not that it probably means much but the bookies still have WA as heavy favourite.

There's still some handy players there, it's being played in WA and the mystique of the last few seasons success at play there.

But it's a very weak bowling line up, and Vics are near full strength. Money should be on them IMO

Yeah, agree with all that. The odds seemed outrageous to me so I have something on the Vics. Can't imagine there's a heap of money being bet on the Shield though :D

Good to see Goodwin back in - lad has talent.

Saw some of his work in premier cricket last season - delightful.

Wondering whether they'll try and promote Hardie up the order this year - he shined in the 3 role for BBL and has a solid technique - perhaps up to 4 in the batting order

Dean ahead of Rogers again ffs.

Nicely balanced side from WA with multiple spin options in the top 7 too. Goodwin bowls leggies, yeah?

Very poor selection choice. With Harris likely back next game it would have been a great opportunity to give Rogers a go having found form in the one dayers.
Plus if he goes well and Merlo fails you can push Puck down into the middle order.

I’d like to see Hardie bat at 4.
He’s a great prospect, but to be taken seriously as a prospect, you need to be batting in the top 4 or 5 at this level.

When the all rounder is the only decent quick you know the bowling attack is average.
