"We're pretty happy to just sit in the moment and enjoy our wins. We've spoken about deep wins and shallow losses and we'll sit in this one for a little bit".

Sunday is the perfect day to wallow in a deep win.

I love the way Fly talks, and the analogies he uses. So calming and reassuring.

Would have been nice to have had him on the very crowded tram home from the game yesterday. I was squashed against an extremely drunk Pies supporter, who fell out the door when it opened at a stop. Sadly he got back on again, and began racially abusing some passengers near him. Very ugly. I called him an idiot and told him to shut up, but he was so drunk he didn’t know who called him out.

You said Freo ie the Freo football club have a history. I said they have one from 1995.

You have sought to conflate your Gold Coast comment into something I said which I never did. Re read it again.

That Fremantle the town has a football history is moot- I was talking about the club itself as I referenced its inception.

You can continue to argue with yourself about Gold Coast v Fremantle but my comment was that Fremantle FC is and will always be a football club with a history that commenced in 1995 with less of a history than Claremont (1906) or Port Melbourne (1874).

No amount of mental manipulation will change this
With all due respect guys , unless this argument dates back to 1881, it's the most irrelevant one on this thread 😅

Good on you VP but be careful of drop kicks like that. You never know what they might do.

I thought jordy and nick look for each other, a bit of synergy developing.
I discussed that at the game yesterday.
Last year and maybe even earlier this year there were times Jordy ignored Nick.
It’s like Nick has earned Jordy’s respect now 🙂

Yeah maybe let us keep a higher percentage of our earned revenue this season instead of taking more to help prop up the financially struggling teams via the equalisation fund....

Totally agree. And that’s a perfect example of socialism v capitalism right there. The AFL system is very socialist.

Be very careful of people like this, it's becoming more and more common at the footy now, when i take my 4 year old son, i've had to ask a couple of supporters to pull there head in, most understand and are apologetic, but then there's the very drunk, very emotionally unstable supporter, which i find more common now that we are winning.

Let's hope the MRO sees it that way. Because he hasn't seen most of them that way this year, has he? That's the point I'm making. Tackling and bumping is my favourite part of the game. I hate seeing multiple players suspended every week for perfectly good tackles.

Players are getting done for sling tackles, not spear tackles. Big difference.

Fly is hoping Maynard goes so it’s one less selection headache

Loved what Maynard said about Port after the game, Hope we really talk it up, that’s the confidence of our side

Not the slightest concern against Port next week !

Keep an eye / ear on Corns and the dribble next week post that comment

Kane is talking up how banged up Port are and now saying it's Collingwood's flag to lose this season.

You are both right, but I couldn’t not speak up when this idiot was mouthing off. Not sure if my ‘old lady’ persona is enough to protect me.🫣

He was so drunk. Can’t believe he was being served at the MCG bar - or pub - he was presumably at.

Fly's presser

What did you take away from the performance today?

Was the second quarter the perfect quarter you can ask for?

The ability to find another level in the second quarter was impressive.

What do you think sparked your second quarter surge?

You must have been happy that Daniel McStay and Steele Sidebottom got through the game unscathed?

Was Scott Pendlebury being subbed off a tactical move?

Does that have an effect on players telling them they're the sub, even though on paper it says they're being omitted?

It's unlikely you'll be making Nick Daicos the sub in the future?

Is Nick Daicos embracing his midfield role with Jordan De Goey?

Is the plan long-term to leave Nick and Jordy in the midfield?

Back to team selection, do you think they should change it from a 22-man line-up to 23-man line-up, even though this can't be done apparently for legal reasons?

Any injuries to report?

Brayden Maynard looked like he re-aggravated his shoulder in the first quarter. Is that something he will have to manage?

Are you confident Maynard will be fine?

Brody Mihocek will push for selection for the Port Adelaide game?

Are you now focusing on the Port Adelaide game?

I think it was interesting him talking about De Goey and Naicos as I think this is the sort of pairing that wins flags this for me is the biggest dynamic we have for success plus Josh,s form.

I see it as trying to fix up a weakness in our game (In recent years we’ve really struggled to win centre clearances)

That's a point as well, people have to speak up to these idiots and let them know this is not acceptable behaviour, but then you have to do so, so they don't start abusing you or threaten physical harm. I'm all for enjoying a drink, but some people take it way too far.

Yes it certainly has been a weakness of our,s but I think with Jordy and Nick it could very well become a strength, it could become the sort of pairing we were all hoping for with Swan and Pendles it could be on that level.

Maybe not …

… but your sophisticated, charming, worldly persona; your je ne sais quoi will always allow you to deftly handle any situation 😃

That was an amazing second quarter. Rest of the game a bit pedestrian. Ended up losing clearances except for that one quarter, smashed especially badly in the first, so can't give an overly enthusiastic tick to any of our rucks (doubly so as Darcy was injured).

McStay 89% game time in his return from injury. That ability to play out a game is part of the reason we want him in. Cox played 81% which is high for him, probably forced due to Frampton hurting his knee.

Players are being suspended for what the MRO just calls dangerous tackles which can mean anything where a player's head hits the ground. To be clear, I don't think either of those tackles are suspendable. I just don't trust that the MRO won't think that based on the precedence he's already set this year.

I just hope he's not suspended. And our footy does the talking next week and we win 🙏

Any risk of (Elliott?) coming under MRO scrutiny for the tripping incident in the first?

IIRC tripping sometimes gets a week?
