I think they know the same, Egan was trying to rush back to make the GF and it failed. I think that is one of the reasons our medicos are so conservative with bringing players back after injury now. They dont want another Egan situation on their hands
And they are having some very tangible success in curtailing the injury list in 2016.
Right from the start of the year, we've seen a number of players eased back in and then actually go on to play regular footy. Notwithstanding some collision injuries that have cost players time subsequently, we have had a whole host of players 'get back' and then stay consistently fit and available for selection.
It's yet another reason why we look far more competitive in 2016. If we make it to the end of the H&A with an injury list at least as short as it is now, the medicos must be acknowledged for doing a brilliant job in getting a huge number of players healthy and match-hardened for the finals series to come (at both AFL and VFL level).
