I agree. I think the only 3 from Essendon in recent times who deserved that honour are Hird, Fletcher and Ramanaskes.

So like David Mackay? Worst 200 gamer in historySave it for 300+ gamers, retirees and select 200 gamers where they have overcome adversity of some sort.
Spot on. Its like ordering an Uber to go to your letterboxIts embarrassing to watch some of the players that get chaired off these days. Id bet there'd be a few that refused it.
Leave it for the champions or special cases.
I get that it's subjective who is worthy.
Just so you can decline a chairing after 300 games? That's dedicationIts an honour awarded to their players to their teammates, not just for what's happened on the field but for everything you don't see off it - who and why they honour is entirely their call and so it should be.
As a supporter if you dont think a chair-off is due - then get off your lazy arse and become an AFL footballer.
Its just a bit of seppo bullshit the West Indies have introduced anywayOn the same note, the former Steven Hocking rules committee should now also introduce strict rules for high fives, hugs and other post-goal celebrations. These are honours that must be EARNED and should only be dispensed after goals with a requisite degree of skill and class.
Also, players who have kicked a goal should not be allowed to initiate a high five themselves in celebration (that means you Buddy). Players need to learn humility. The sharing of emotions and mutual recognition by team mates in a team sport must stop.
Next thing we'll be chairing first gamers onto the training track
Good point.Next thing we'll be chairing first gamers onto the training track
Suspect it was about Hurn in the WCE game
Its just a bit of seppo bullshit the West Indies have introduced anyway
Which both Hurn and Higgins who got chaired off both qualifyI think that chairing players off should be reserved for 250+ game milestones and retiring greats.
Was the duck carried off ?
