My point was more SOS looked like he did that trade thinking the gap between the blues and crows wasn’t going to be big
it was 2 firsts for 1. if the gap between the crows was close we absolutely destroy them in the trade. if we come second last then crows need to miss finals for us to breakeven in the trade. they make finals we lose, they miss by a lot we win. if they can 9th it's a tie.

but is this even the worst trade in adelaide-carlton history? last i checked the crows traded 2 x first round picks for a SANFL player

My point is that SOS made the trade thinking that the blues would improve to a level that they would finish around or above the crows, hence he has to some degree overrated the list. The fact that the pick gap appears it will be large is a clanger. I’d already said earlier the Gibbs trade was a good one but the blues look to have lost out on this one, bringing it back a bit.

Only need to look at the amount of first round busts he has had since 2012 to know he needs to go.
Was always going to get some picks right during his time at the Giants. Doesn't take a genius with the amount of picks he's had.

2015 was SOS’s first draft. The previous recruiting team stuffed up badly.

How many list manager's have drafted a guy off the back of 2 tac games? And drafted he's best mate just because he is mates with Ben. Hint the 18th best list manager

Answer the question, don't dance around it.

You have accused SOS of favouritism because he overlooked a particular player.

So, once again I'll ask the question, which club ultimately drafted young Hickmott ??

He has a bad track record prior to that. Hence all the busts.
You surely aren't defending him?
You want him at your club or?

I don’t understand. Stephen Silvagni’s first draft was 2015 ahead of the 2016 season. He picked up Weitering, Mckay and Curnow.

The stuffing up was done by the previous list manager.

Don't think they form part of our spine.
Again the first round picks we have are solid and after a 100 games will start coming good. Don't bring up spuds that were either salary dumps or list fillers for depth. I'll give you Kennedy and Lang not living upto it. But not all List managers have a 100% record. Hawthorn gave vickery a 4 year deal.

Vickery 2 years. Quit during his second year so would not have received a full pay-out.

This is delusion at it's finest.

A Carlton supporter having a crack at Geelong.

Cats last dozen years:
3 premierships
1 Runners Up
Numerous other top 4 finishes
Have they even missed the finals over that time?

Suggest you pick your targets better old boy...

Yet the statement he made is a reasonable one -which of Silvagni’s first round selections are a bust, and of those, where do they stack up comparatively in performances to date against NCC? You seem to always have an opinion on Carlton so please indulge us in your answer

We all know his first round selections aren't the problem (though many still have a lot to prove before we can call them bona fide AFL standard players), it's everything else he's done at the draft and trade table. That is why Carlton are 2 and 10 in the fourth year of your rebuild.

Your friend picked out an injury prone high draft pick at one of the two most successful clubs of the past 15 years; a club that currently sits two games clear on top of the ladder.

And what exactly is the definition of a “bona fide AFL standard player”?

There are many factors at play for Carlton’s current ladder position. SOS rightfully should be under the microscope but he is not the sole cause.

The Carlton poster responded to a Geelong supporter’s post that regarded as busts all of the first round picks. The ladder position of Geelong has no bearing on the response. It’s irrelevant.

And yet the poster he quoted specifically said they were.

So why exactly are you defending the Geelong poster who said it?

You haven't been watching. in fact you probably haven't seen him play. Coming along very nicely.
