PIEMAN RESULTS Rd 12 v Fremantle

A win over Freo in Perth is a great way to head to the bye. The last time we had a bye after playing Freo over there we ended up winning the flag. Good omen I reckon.

There could have been any number of goals tonight (I'm looking at you Aaron, Mitch, Jason) but we'll just have to settle for 13, enough for a win and enough for an interesting Pieman round. Nine goalkickers and nobody kicked more than two. A nice spread.

Pieman Player of the Week

Libba revived our momentum with two late goals in the third quarter after Fremantle had made its move. Those two goals were enough to secure him the PPotW. The maximum possible score was 252 (Libba x3 and Hannan x2).



Pieman Player of the Year

Quiet at the top but Libba has made a sharp move up to third spot. Bruce is still well in front.

Remarkably both Bruce and Naughton have a kicked at least one goal in each of the 12 rounds, although Bruce left it until very late in the fourth quarter to join the club this week.



The KELVIN

There were eleven carryover teams this week and some of them did quite well. It shows you don't have to tweak the dials every week to get a good result. The substitutes that were applied are shown here as well:

None of these however were good enough to beat this week's Kelvin winner SayerTheCreator whose triple dose of Liberatore gave him a healthy 182 points. jaxie1 (168) wasn't far away in second but there was a bit of a gap to the others headed by Sharkey66 in third place (146).

Nine different goalscorers meant there were a few who collected the 5x1 bonus of 20 points. Five of them in fact. It also meant there were no doughnuts this week.



The PIEMAN

We have a new leader!

Going into the bye it's SayerTheCreator who has taken a 28 point lead with his second Kelvin in a row. Boyd oh Boyd 's solid 109 pts keeps him in second spot with last week's leader Wocka slipping back to third. jaxie01 and TempletonTheRat were big movers too, sneaking into the bottom end of the top 10.



Enjoy the bye. Take time to regroup. Maybe think up some new Pieman strategies.

Remember with a place in the top 4 beckoning we look set to play at least 24 games this season so that means we are no more than half way through the Pieman year.

That in turns suggests there is plenty of time to turn things around even if you're well down the table. Right Scrag?
