Re: Pods: GAWN

love it.and it sure looked like minimal contact, and a huge dive from gibbs.

every team has players who do this, and its a blight on the game.

And you are a blight on this forum ..Your ignorance is proudly displayed time and time again ..I'd like to see you get cannoned into by a bloke the size of podsiardly and not get taken backwards ...in fact it would probably knock some sense into you .

If it was one of your nancy boy kids you'd be screaming blue murder.

It's going to be reckless, medium impact and high contact with 60 extra activation points.

What's that add up to?

Assuming 25% with a plea ...

2 weeks with carryover points?

If Walker didn't get done for that incident against us a few weeks ago then Pods has nothing to worry about.
McGlynn and Walker took each other out in a hard contest for the ball, but the bigger guy "won" after he tried to stop, but couldn't pull up on Etihad's shifting turf.

Waite received two weeks for bumping Duffield with a softer hit than this.

Podsiadly will be lucky to get two weeks.

Re: Pods: GAWN

Perhaps Pods should get 1 or 2 due to negligence, however, my issue is with Gibbs throwing himself back - the AFL needs to stamp out this growing practice - IMO the best way to stop diving/acting is to have post-match video reports with a mandatory minimum 3 match suspension for 1st offence where there has been blatant and obvious diving/acting....

:thumbsu::thumbsu:
Its like he was starting a backstroke lap in a pool:D

He's just lucky that he wasn't really running fast at the Carlton player. It was sort of stationary. Very dumb though.

Agreed, clumsy, but definitely not intentional, and at the lower end of the impact scale. 2 weeks is about fair and anything more or less isn't.

Re: Pods: GAWN

It's his first year?
Yep, won't have any applicable good or bad record.

2 weeks sounds about right & fair & ties in with the gradings/points.

So, we know that finding's ruled out....
my tip is a week and a half in community service in Haiti, 3 demerit points off any future Icelandic driving licence and a fine to be paid in pesoes.

If you actually receive contact to the head, then how can you ascertain that someone has dived? A hard part of a body makes contact to your head. There are plenty of parts of the head that can't withstand a lot of force. Then you have a natural reaction that you have been hit in the head and you recoil to prevent further damage. It's pretty much a reflex. Suggesting that someone who received contact in the manner Gibbs did, has taken a dive is just highlighting your ignorance, and again it is a blame the victim mentality.

Two weeks ago Mitch Robinson was alleged to have dived to get Hille reported. He might have put himself in harms way but he did not dive. Neither did Gibbs. He got up pretty quick and went about his business as well, no labouring for umpire sympathy. He then underwent further checks during the game so he must have felt it.

Re: Pods: GAWN

Which player did betts ram head first into the turf? Hunt should get a life ban if you ask me pathetic scum he is

Are you looking for someone to boo when Dasher retires?

Hunt didn't drive Waite's head into the ground he made sure that Waites back hit the ground first

Big problems with the MRP as far as consistancy is concerned.

This one from Kerr was classified as low impact yet Pods gets done for medium.

Re: Pods: GAWN

Pods: Head high bump - 3 weeks - Reckless Conduct, High Contact, Medium Impact
Hunt: Sling Tackle - 2 weeks - Reckless Conduct, High Contact, Medium Impact

You can argue whether or not they should be penalised till the cows come home, but the way the MRP has been cracking down on these two particular offences I would expect the following penalties.

The classifications were off but the penalty was right

Minimum 3 weeks....

but will no doubt get the automatic Victorian playing in the finals reduction...so 1 week

Medium impact by Pods eh....Liam Picken is having a good laugh right about now.

Just shows you how screwed the MRP is when they penalise one player and not another for doing exactly the same thing. But we already know the MRP, tribunal and umpires are the gestapo of the football world. They can do whatever they please.

Hardly worth complaining it was just our turn to be bent over by the mrp, no one is happy with how they go about there business except young mothers who don't watch any football and that is ok by the afl
