That's it for Webster. The end, I'm afraid. :(

I will remember him for two reasons. One, he played a good game in our elimination final loss to Essendon in 2003 (and then did his knee).

Two, he kicked the winning point in Macca's 200th game against Adelaide last year.

Oh, and he looks like Des Headland.

Thanks for that, Luke. You gave it your best effort. :thumbsu:

Sounds like he's having the 'quick fix' op. Can't imagine that his AFL career will ever be back on track, but hopefully he can keep the knee in a reasonably state for the rest of his life.

Bad luck Luke. You looked like you could have been a really good player for this club and always gave your all. It must be heartbreaking to have it all shot down by injury. :(:(:(

Pav mentioned on channel nine that Webby is having the same treatment as Nick Malceski so he hopes to be available just after the split round.

Makes sense really, the conventional method hasn't worked for him and if he was to miss the rest of the season it would be career over.

It's a shame a few of our players don't have the desperation of Luke Webster.

There goes one of the only players on our list who had the stones to step up on the two biggest games in our history (EF 03 and PF 06). I felt for the guy when he did his 3rd in that WAFL Prelim in 03 after he looked like he was setting up a great career. Now, well, I've got nothing. He was perhaps the player on the team I actually admired the most because he had the stones to come back from 3 knee recos. But a fourth, he'd be superman to get in.

I hope his future is showered in sucess and good fortune :( :(

I hope this controversial surgery does the job and fast! His career is on the line for this one!

Anyone know which knee? he's done one knee twice and the other knee once. Is it the one-time or two-time one?

Poor bloody fella. Must be so devastated. What're the odds on needing a 4th reco? :thumbsd:

He'll be the new bionic man...

Bad luck Luke. You were always one of my favourite players ever since that pearler you played in the 2003 elimination final when most of your teammates went to water...

You backed up again in 2006 final series.

Unfortunately your game was cripled by injury and CC not letting you play your natural game...

Best of luck with the surgery, if anyone can come back from a 4th reco, it's you :thumbsu:

wait a minute, so he'll be ready for the split round you say? that gets up my goat a bit, why the F*&% wouldn't we do it with hase then?

Look I understand Australia is a bit behind the boat when it comes to these kinda things but FFS they have been doing them in Europe for almost 2 years and have had REMARKABLE results. Now I don't know why we didn't get hase to do it. man this club pisses me off sometimes with it's dartboard choices

Feel sorry for Luke

Not a brilliant player by any stretch of the imagination but a player who gave his all whenever he pulled on the club's jumper...Theres one in every team.

Who woulda thought 4 Knee reco's........Sheesh that seriously is bad luck....Wish luke all the best in his recovery!

terrible news :thumbsd:

i've been a big webster fan over the years and i always thought that somewhere down the line he would find a spot in our 22

wait a minute, so he'll be ready for the split round you say? that gets up my goat a bit, why the F*&% wouldn't we do it with hase then?

hase's injury was much worse than the average acl

apparantly he tore 3 different ligaments plus cartilage
