Great rookie gamble and likely to pay off. He is 195cm and about 90 kg and may grow a few cms, so could become a monster of a player. (Noted that Lord was 195cm and 84kg when drafted and is now 197cm and 92kg). Will follow him with interest.

Play him in Round 1 as the scapegoat to knock out Jeremy McGovern.

Walsh may have been selected as the replacement for Jake Pasini whose form unfortunately fell away badly after his knee injury, albeit he appears to have a lot more strings to his bow than Jake ever had with his ability to play at either end of the ground, or in between if required, so it won't surprise me greatly that depending on the availability of other talls at sanfl level he plays a number of games in defence for the Maggies from day one, with the long term aim of developing him into that big, mobile key defender the club has lacked for years which resulted in the dire need to trade for Ratugolea.

He mentioned on a podcast his position of choice is in defence but doesn't mind playing forward and kicking goals.
