Doesn't really matter if the team was settled or not, Petty had been forward since round 3, he got injured but that's where he was playing. Then they bring him back from injury and play him back. The thing is I thought our backline looked pretty settled with Tomlinson so there's that as well. Anyway I suppose we took a while to settle in 2021 as well.
I think the club sees Petty as a genuine swing-man looking forward. The way I see it, JvR needs someone behind his left shoulder to protect him from double teaming. JvR is only 6'-4" in the old.
And still a light-weight as forwards go.

All tall forwards need some cover in packs. Our club imv, is fairly weak in the covering off skills.
