30 and 3 and he`s not even played that well by his standards.

2014 he lead the Brownlow up until his injury (comfortably - 22 to 17), as well as being named All-Australian, runner up in the Leigh Matthews Trophy, and top 10 in the coaches award (I think - was 4th with 2 rounds to play).
For all the criticism of his leadership, he was also named 3rd best captain by the players that year.

So 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 isn't “hasn't done anything in 5 years” when he was also a B&F and top 20 in the Brownlow in one of the years.

Dangerfield has produced seasons equivalent to his 2008 and 2010-2013 really. Now he has to produce a 2007, 2009, season where Ablett was the clear best player in the best team...and then play good footy without dominating well into his 30s.

Also the biggest knock on players comparisons with Ablett is his leadership.

Dangerfield is not in the stratosphere of Hodge, Selwood, Voss etc where leadership elevates them another level. He`s not bad and is a decent deputy to Selwood but it's not enough to use massively over Ablett in the sense that Ablett is a 5x Leigh Matthews Trophy and Danger has 1...

At his peak Danger can reach heights Ablett cannot reach. Ablett cannot turn into carey up forward, nor does he have the speed or power Danger posses. Danger's Brownlow was probably the only one of recent memory that was a landslide.

But Ablett has 2 flags and has been at elite level for longer so him right now.

Danger is nowhere near GAJ!

No slight on Danger he is a Brownlow medalist but Ablett IMO could have been a chance to be regarded as the greatest ever if he didn’t go to that battling franchise up North.

Carey? Carey didn’t need razor ray helping him out and he didn’t butcher tha ball to the level of dangerfield

Not a terrible question, Ablett is the greatest player of the modern era but Dangerfield isn't far behind in second. But I feel like Dangerfield peaked in his 2-year 2016-17 form and he would have to have an even better period than that to go past God Jr.

LOL

‘Danger is a better athlete so his best is better’

Just no. As good as Dangerfield is he has never had the brain or skills of GAJ, and never will. Hell I reckon if you asked Paddy himself he’d be flattered you even put him in the same tier as GAJ.

Ablett, though people like to knock him lately, has been - aside from his injury problems - a player that for 12 seasons now, cannot be clearly (note I said clearly) bettered when he is at his peak. There are players who briefly pop up for periods of half, occasionally a full season, at a sustained level that is equal to or marginally better than Ablett. But when he is on the field, this is a constant: Ablett is truly elite, his worst performances are BETTER than a lot of very good players’ BEST performances. Hell, he was copping flack in some sections of the media for his form in his 6 games or whatever he’s played this year prior to tonight, when in reality he’s been in the best 4-5 players in our team literally every week. If that is what draws you criticism, you are a freak.

Danger is a long long way from turning into Wayne Carey up forward, Carey kicked North to a couple of flags and starred up forward week in week out, no comparison.

Ironically it is reverse for both players. We made dangerfield what you have now, and gold Coast made ablett.. Rich and old and starved for success.
Lol good one Mick, you do remember Ablett has a couple flags and shiny medals at Geelong right? Think before writing. And you also made Dangerfield the guy who couldn’t wait to get out of Adelaide then won a Brownlow at his new club.
