All players can be tagged let's not be stupid. Might not work every game but all can be subdued. Greenwood did this to Cothchin last year got away with murder then the umpires tightened up on his tactics.

Because he was injured at the start of the season people had forgotten how good a player Pendlebury can be imo. The quality of his decisions and disposal is ridiculous

Also the tag arguments are stupid. Pendlebury has had taggers placed on him throughout his career and the reason why they don't do it anymore is because they don't do very much. People itt trying to blame Pendlebury for the fact Selwood has trouble shaking a tag are lol imo

No Selwood had a problem breaking a tag today not all the time. It's like saying Mitchell can't break a tag after last night.

Nah, it's because they're getting a return on their investment imo. Taggers have gone right out of fashion and only being used when there's some value to be had. I mean today's a really good example. If we wanted to use a tagger to stop their most dangerous player we'd have played Greenwood on Dangerfield. Like Pendelbury, tagging Danger doesn't give you much of a return.

Yeah North are about the only team who do it regularly though. Even Greenwood doesn't seem to be tagging most weeks, although he should do it a lot more imo

I would have thought the 'Pendlebury vs Selwood' title would have made it pretty obvious that the topic was started with the intent to discuss which of the two players are better.

Pendles probably has him for consistency, but Selwood has won a lot more games for Geelong than Pendles has for Collingwood.

Nice excuse, except Selwood had an interrupted preseason too. Didn't play a single game until the season proper got underway.

He played a VFL practice match 9 days before that but the point is very valid. He undoubtedly had a more interrupted preseason than Pendlebury and with 4 ten vote games already would be ahead of Pendles in coaches votes this season.

Plantar Fasciitis is a very nasty injury, unbelievable how he's recovered really.

The disparity basically comes down to the fact that Pendlebury is pretty much better than Selwood at everything except ducking his head (and even then it's closer than you think)

Selwood is a better leader, tackler, is harder at the ball and wins more games off his own boot than Pendelbury does
