Wouldn't have thought finishing 1st by 2 games and percentage is a massive fail, and losing in a prelim certainly doesnt make us one hit wonders like the dogs.

I get you're on your own board and you can say what you like, but at least try bait me with some creativity...
Bait you for what? You just said it yourself , finish 1st by 2 games ,reigning premier and they blew it when it counted. There’s no second prize in footy and nobody cares who finished on top all we remember is Dom Sheed sinking a dagger through the hearts of the colliwobblers.
All season it was about Richmond back to back but ultimately the season was a massive fail when measured against expectations.
Pressure is on Richmond next week no doubt about it.

Problem with jsos is I think we become too top heavy...hes got lots of great attributed but he ain't quick.

Especially against Richmond we'll need a team with decent speed.

We already have curnow, McKay and mcgov up front and Cripps resting there at times. Can we really have jsos as well? Fas also in the mix but is a medium forward.

Would leave all the smalls pressure being dumped on polson and Cunners but even Cunners rotates through the middle.

We may need gibbons and polson for now purely structurally to provide pressure and hopefully get some crumbs.
The thing with Jsos he might not be quick but he has quick hands and is smart and can play multiple positions imo..

Why use stats when you don't provide them? Was immediately suspicious. Turns out I was right. The highest ranking one on one defenders for 2018 were as follows:
Aliir aliir
Jeremy mcgovern
Will schofield
Mark blicavs
Nick haynes
Jake kelly
Aiden corr

The stats don't show anymore. What they do show is no rance. He is not a good one on one defender, Astbury and grimes have and always will be your best at that.
From the AFL Prospectus, Rance had the 19th best one on one loss rate in the AFL last year, very similar to Liam Jones. In fairness though, he was ranked the second best in that stat in 2017.

The 666 thing is a godsend to a guy like Jones.

Essentially, man up, and he knows he’s good enough one out with the pill coming in quick.

He’s got a nice dynamic with JW in that back 50 space tbh, and with wise old heads in Thomas and Simpson, these guys know each other’s games.

Newman is a bonus as the extra lefty, Garlett & Plowman amaze and confuse.....sometimes in the same instance.

Quite frankly, don’t mind our back 6.

Roll on Thursday.

Good point JF90....we've never liked playing at the s**t hole at Docklands....even in the 'Juddy era' when we had the 3 amigos running amok...we were always a lot better in the wide spaces of the G.
Has always killed us.

Honestly reckon if we got past the Eagles in '11 we would've given Geelong a run for their money on the G the next week. Wasn't a bad game plan at all in hindsight.

Who goes out if Marchank gets fit? Jones or Plowman?
