Tom Morris on On The Couch reckons Adelaide has told other clubs that all their older players are up for trade - Betts, Jenkins, Jacobs etc. - because they need to rejuvenate their list.

Translation: Adelaide had to overpay to get Sloane to stay in 2018 and they need a salary cap dump because they legitimately thought they were going to win the flag this year and Betts would retire alongside Douglas and McKay.

It's going to be salary cap dump with guys like Betts and Jenkins - s**t picks in a s**t draft.

They may want to sell, but who'd want to buy?

Old, big contract, here have out 1st round pick?

They should trade Ted to the GC. That'd be gold.

Especially with Betts, no disrespect to the man but he is at a stage where he needs a zimmer frame. The only way forward realistically is for a coaching role but if i were a team eyeing him off i would wait for retirement.

Predicted Week 1 of finals:

QF1 Geelong vs Richmond
QF2 Brisbane vs West Coast
EF1 Collingwood vs Western Bulldogs
EF2 GWS vs Port Adelaide

I've worked through it a bit and win both games we finish 7th and play GWS, win 1 game we finish 8th and play Collingwood, win neither we miss out.

Last 2 rounds of the season is the first time Richmond will have met WCE and Brisbane - both at the MCG conveniently for them. Four of their seven-in-a-row MCG games to finish the minor round will have been against non-Victorian teams.

West Coast - the reigning premiership team - have played 2 top 8 teams since round 6. Lol.

Just thinking, if we make it would we rather play Collingwood or GWS? (This is assuming Richmond keeps winning and secures Top 4)

Probably Collingwood. Once GWS get Coniglio, Kelly and a few others back for finals, they'll be difficult to stop. Collingwood are just going at the moment and would be ripe for the picking similar to what they were when we beat them in 2013.

If we win this week, and results fall our way there could be a scenario going into the last game where winning will give us 7th and losing will give us 8th. If we perhaps really wanna play 5th we could strategically lose this game. Very dangerous though as you don’t want losing form going into finals.
