Last Sunday we were +1 for clearances against arguably the best midfield in the AFL. In the two previous weeks we were -25 for clearances. It will not hard for the selectors to justify picking Sauce over Rob.

My concern is that Brodie will be too good for Rob but we already know he will dominate Sauce.

If I were a betting man I would put my money on NO CHANGES.

Imagine if we play two ruckmen, then through ROB forward to rest and take marks, and make Fog run around instead.

We could play Benny Hill music too.

ROB's sitting 4th in the yearly coaches votes so he must have been rucking adequately for our head and opposition coach to be giving him those votes. Probably says more about our head coach who gave him those votes and then drops him after one bad performance .I would presume ROB would be sitting top 3 in the clubs B & F also. I haven't seen sauce anywhere near the top of the B & F over the last couple of years if my memory serves me correct.
Crows Leaderboard - Top Five

51 - Brad Crouch
38 - Matt Crouch
32 - Rory Sloane
26 - Reilly O’Brien
26 - Brodie Smith

Put it this way, if Sauce had played the first half of the year to 70% of ROB's output, no matter how bad he went or for how many weeks, he'd not be dropped. It's just that simple and anyone who doesn't accept that hasn't been watching our selectors for very long.

Playing Jacob's and ROB would be a massive liability imo. Actually playing Jacobs full stop would likely be catastrophic against grundy. I would drop Jacob's, Hartigan, Douglas and Otten and bring in ROB, Keath if fit, Himmelberg and Butts. Would move Lynch up to the wing and play Walker half forward with Fogarty and Berg as your hit up forwards. That way Berg can take ruck in the forward half and give ROB a spell in the middle. I feel Butts even as a debutant would offer more than Otten as well. The other option is that they btring in ROB, Keath and Berg for Jacobs, Otten, Douglas moving Lynch up the ground.

Personally I would go for the following team below but it would never happen under the current match committee. I may be biased but the forward line structure is the best we have had all year. The average age of the team comes down to 24.90 as opposed to an unchanged team average age of 26.64. That nearly 2 year age difference is predominantly made up because of Douglas, Mackay, Otten, Jacobs.

Brown Talia Kelly
Laird Keath Milera
Lynch Sloane Seedsman
Walker Fogarty Jones
Betts Himmelberg Gallucci

ROB MCrouch Smith

BCrouch Knight Butts Gibbs

In: ROB Gallucci Jones Seedsman Butts Keath Himmelberg
Out: Jacob's Murphy Douglas Mackay Otten Hartigan Atkins
Ideally we'd play ROB ahead of Jacobs, but they got their wish of getting Sauce back in and they aren't going to drop him for his 200th game. So basically you gotta bring in ROB to cover for his deficiencies around the ground, otherwise Grundy will smash us.

ROB payed the price for a slow unaccountable midfield led by Campo who has no bloody idea. We never tag, we never setup on the defensive side and most of our mids never chase once the ball is outside of a 5m radius. The fact ROB was our highest contested ball winner quite often says something about our midfield. I bet Campo was the one who iniated his old mate sauce in the side. The sad fact is that he was more than likely hoping for a bad performance from ROB to get the old band back together. He is a cancer at our club.
Watch the Richmond/Carlton game from last week and watch, I think it was Prestia, on Cripps. Does exactly what Blight said we should have done, sits off him by about a metre at each contest and then watch Shane Edwards. If Cripps gets it, bang, Prestia is already in his path to stop him getting it clear out. If the ball is in dispute then Edwards is almost going as a 2nd ruck to try and tap it to the open Prestia, who is free because Cripps is in the contest.

We just consistently get all our players being sucked into contests cause the only thing they care about is winning the ball, but it handicaps us massively if we don't.

I have been wrong before but the only way I see Rob playing is for us to play two ruckmen.
Could they play ROB at half back?, a role he's familiar with having done really well there for the Calder Cannons in his over age draft year after Jake Lever went down with his ACL, previous to that he was No.2 banana in the ruck behind big Mark Kovacevic. I distinctly remember ROB doing a stirling job on then gun Forward Darcy Moore in a TAC Cup finals game that year.

I'm not convinced Seedsman is a much better option than Atkins.

AFC can just f**k off.
