OK, I'll bite. We only paying him $200K. OK?? Why do all you lot think that we are in a salary cap squeeze??? Buddy's coming into one of his lowest salary years. What price have we paid?
Dawson is not going anywhere. Sorry Beachwe'll get alot more than that.
If Dawson went to the crows, p4 would be in the conversation. Crows won't give up p4, but gives an indication of Dawsons worth.
Swans dont need picks. We've heaps of young talent. Swans need cash!
I suggested a few pages back (hypothetically) Swans trade Dawson for Ladhams. Dawson is much more valuable than Ladhams, so instead of Ladhams and a pick, why not get creative (Kinnear is very creative) and get Ladhams and Port pay his salary in 2022 - Hes contracted with Port unto end of 2022.
or.. Swans could trade Dawson for Hayes. Dawson is much more valuable than Hayes.. Port pay hayes salary 2022/23
Swans lose Dawson, gain a young ruck and port pay some or all of the young rucks salary. Swans get some spare cash
Port get Dawson, Keep their draft picks and end up with 2 x rucks - Lycett (28yo) + Hayes or Ladhams

Highest earning players in the AFLThis may be ignorant of me, but why are we so squeezed on the salary cap as has been reported lately. I remember seeing an article a couple of years back how now tippet was gone we were poised to pull in a big name in the trade period, but we never did. Apart from Franklin where else would the majority of our salary be going.
* Just found this (By the Herald Sun so take with a grain of salt) I'm surprised Heeney is the 13th highest paid player in the comp. Not saying he isn't worth it.
just an alternative trade hypothetical.. where Swans lose 1 gun and gain a need (young ruck) and free up approx $1m.. Dont pay Dawson or Sinclare or young ruck.Hope we don’t trade Dawson for ladhams
It was pointed more at brad cooper and Jimbo OZ who believe we should not believe anything we read or hear in the media.Have my 2nd shot tomorrow.
GWS now have 5th (Kelly new contract of $1m/yr), 8th, 15th and 16th highest paid players. And can still sign Hopper, Green and others this year.Highest earning players in the AFL

Lance Franklin is the highest paid AFL player with $1.5million salary
The AFL's highest paid players have been revealed with the top earner bringing in $1.5million a season despite not winning a premiership for his team.www.dailymail.co.uk
heeney overpaid then
Not sure how accurate that list is but if its true then yes he is slightly overpaid.
Why jump at shadows now? We received some good news as a club today and yet a lot of the chat on here is crying about milk that hasn't been spilt yet. Sure, come on here and jump and scream when it is confirmed that we have blown up our list like Collingwood did last year but until that happens, nothing is confirmed except that we re-signed Luke Parker.OK, I'll bite. We only paying him $200K. OK?? Why do all you lot think that we are in a salary cap squeeze??? Buddy's coming into one of his lowest salary years.
Who do YOU think most of our 2022 cap is going to other than Bud's $900K? Maybe we're paying Taylor and Clark $700K each.
I suppose you think that's not true because it has only been reported in the media and we shouldn't believe anything we hear from the media as #brad cooper continues to tell me.
By the way, the media keep telling us about all the problems with covid. I gather you think that's all a conspiracy too.
Sure, journalists get some things wrong but they speak to the player's managers etc far more than what we do.
Not sure how accurate that list is but if its true then yes he is slightly overpaid.
Considering he has never gotten an AA I would say 13th in the AFL in terms of pay is very overpaid.
Hewitt- played as a defender when we had Warner & JPK running around in the midfield. Can be traded with out too much damage done.Based on Harley’s interview, there is a decent chance of losing Hewett. Decent chance we lose others too but list changes happen every year. Whether we lose Hewett or not means diddly squat about our salary cap position. I think it is fair to say that our list managers work hard every year to build a fantastic list under the difficult circumstances of Sydney cost of living. Over the last few years we’ve lost Zak Jones, Rohan, Hanners, and Aliir. We have also retained a lot too and have a list that is the envy of most of the comp.
I think you're putting words in my mouth. It was pointed more at brad cooper and Jimbo OZ who believe we should not believe anything we read or hear in the media.
Vaccination rates have saved Glady's backside.
I think you're putting words in my mouth.
And Australia. If the vaccination rates were much lower the amount of cases would have risen much faster and spilled into other states.Vaccination rates have saved Glady's backside.
that's 9 players out.Hewitt- played as a defender when we had Warner & JPK running around in the midfield. Can be traded with out too much damage done.
Reid- Wasn't picked for our final when available & would normally be straight in. Can be traded without too much damage done.
Fox- Wasn't picked as part of the starting 22 in the final. Perhaps then not part of the future going forward so no damage done.
Ronke, Gray, Clarke, Brand, Ling, Sinclair can all be delisted/traded/ rerookied. Money saved as some would be on more than they need to be on.
