Player stealer. I think someone else may have had him lined up…but no, Phar SOS steps in and steals him. 😱

Only player in the history of the sport to kick a goal with a flat footy. 😁

Had him on my scrawled hope-list along with a few more, one was Eric Zschech, Hislop (who was stolen from me), Bobby Bawden and another I won't mention yet because tiger_tough is such a thief! Was rapt Neville Roberts fell to me along with Ray Martin - love classic ball users! Which is why I took Maurice so early!

Bloody mofo! Lucky I found a better option

Sorrry BulletMan - not really......... A better one, think you safe from me then - no one will see my next one coming - probably not even in the best 200 but I think he is by a country mile!

You've got the best team buddy and my vote. Titus/ Zscheh combination, Green, Rioli and my late Dad's best indigenous friend, JB introduced me to the RFC and his greatest Tiger of all time in Roger Dean.

Frankly, there are some bloody good teams - people who got the early 1st Round picks really do have an advantage by getting the best of the best - Hart, Martin, Bartlett et al. I was really surprised Titus got to me - I really think his record says so much over so many decades - he was a freak of footy nature - he's up there with those three for mine.

If only we could have seen Richo in the current team with the current success around him - probably better than Roach but Roach has the record of success!

That's what I mean about we are blessed with so many champs that we can argue about - no one is right and no one is wrong!

For sure as it's just too hard to do ascertain, but you did have a lot of my all time favourites.

Pick 171
Pick 171 - Frank 'Checker' Hughes - A small and quick player with brilliant skills in stab passing and handball, Hughes played in two Richmond Football Club premiership sides.

Richmond 1914-15; 1919-23 (87 games, 51 goals)
Premierships 1920, 1921.

can double up as coach too, very good pick this late

Pick 172
Pick 172 - Thomas O'Halloran -Possessed of great courage, and one of the best marks in the VFL at the time, New Zealander O’Halloran, who made his league debut in 1925, suffered the misfortune of playing in four losing Grand Finals before finally participating in a premiership win in 1932. After playing in yet another losing Grand Final the following season he finished his league career in the best possible fashion with another flag in 1934.

A versatile player, O’Halloran was equally at home leading the rucks or holding down a position on the Tiger forward lines. Not the prettiest player to watch and a poorer than average kick, O’Halloran more than compensated for these deficiencies with his formidable high marking and his resolute determination to win the ball. He was Richmond’s best and fairest player in 1925 at the outset of a 142-game, 120-goal career which also saw him represent the VFL ‘B’ team twice.

142 games, 120 goals
Richmond Premiership Player 1932, 1934
Richmond Hall of Fame – inducted 2013

How the recruiters have let this bloke slip into the 170’s, they should hang their craniums in shame. 😁
Perhaps some in the cheap seats overrate 'greats' from the early days when the population of Australia was 750 and only 29 played football.

The cheap seats say players can only play against what is there RATDisco. There was a massive influx of population to Melbourne at the time, no doubt among them some fantastic athletes as well as all the world famous explorers etc. How do you think sport became so big here?

I am super confident this bloke would do huge damage running off a half back flank in the modern game. He was a top class runner with a brilliant mind for the game. You had to be tough to survive in those days and he survived to a very old age. He was the sport’s first massive recruit, and what a recruit he was. He also enjoyed excellent longevity and was clearly a great on field leader, captaining almost all the teams for which he played. As draft picks go, this bloke is creme de la creme. His long career at the Land Titles Office would also be extremely useful in the current redevelopment of The Swinburne. Us having him at this time might also have averted the scandalous stand rule brought in to benefit the Cats and hinder our dominance over the competition.

Did you even stop to consider some of those things he would have brought to the table had you drafted him RATDisco? I am guessing the answer is no.

Who do you think is the more skilled and valuable leader, Dan Andrews because he is "leading” 7 million people, or Charles Hotham, who was sorting out the states financial system forever at a time you describe Australia’s population as being 750? Just a clue, I don’t think there will end up being a mountain named Mt Andrews. Maybe a mountain of debt….😂
