With all these reports coming out of additional similar instances, this is becoming yet another master-class in crisis management by the overlords at AFL House

And classic example of there must be tonnes of shit the AFL stops from getting into the media.

Seriously, if he has made three threats of harm vs another player. Then he is clearly someone who has is both thin skinned, and temperamental. A volatile and dangerous combination amongst men. If this was a domestic situation, alarm bells would be ringing and people would be concerned about the well being of any others around said person.

The fact the AFL sits on their ass and act like it its nothing, whilst suspending people for lesser incidents, and football acts. Will they and Port Adelaide be liable if one day he loses control and belts someone on the field? He clearly needs mental health and anger management support before it reaches that point.

Also you have to ask, did the AFL know about the Cats and Bombers incidents? Or did the players choose not to mention it at the time until the Dale story came out? If the AFL knew about the two previous incidents, on top of the Dale one. Why have they hidden it, and dismissed penalizing for a 3rd incident?

I mean anyone who had read The Boys Club, knows that the AFLs motto is, "unless the media know about it, hide as much as we can because our image is more important than integrity".

Worrying about someone's mental health doesn't make them 'the victim'.

It's possible to be worried about him because of his behaviour - he is behaving in a way that indicates mental health problems

It is also possible for someone to do the wrong thing, face public humiliation and scrutiny, and for that to cause a worrying health crisis in a way that absolutely doesn't absolve them of their behaviour.

Basically, you don't have to be a victim to have mental health issues or need support. I think it particularly important that we acknowledge this for me who are notoriously bad at seeking help

Yeah look all that sounds great in theory but the public is growing increasingly tired of it being used to either explain away behaviour or used as a shield for scrutiny.

We are a species that values retribution and many people are getting sick of the growing idea that somehow the consequences of someone's actions that may result in mental health challenges can then be used as a justification to water down consequences.

Society has had a gut full and you are seeing a rebuke of it.

You can calll it heartless, you can call it lacking empathy but too many people are riding the train.
