We're removing the back stripe and going to 1990's style jumpers.
Complete with yellow numbers?

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I'd love for us to **** off white shorts and always wear black with our black kit, and yellow with our yellow kit. Might mean we have to wear the yellow kit more in away games against the likes of Pies, Blues, Dees, etc. but I don't mind. Clash jumper looks great.

Covering Lynch atm is pretty tricky. Lefau not ready yet. Fawcett and Bauer were both poor in the VFL and they're also coming off a five day break.
  • Could go smaller, but that makes life harder for Faull and Sims
  • Could throw Brown forward
  • Could play Gray or Blight forward
  • Could bring Ryan straight in
Essendon have Reid who has been in good form, Mckay and Laverde. Think we can get away with going smaller, that combination is pretty woeful if the ball hits the deck. If we were going to bring a tall in I think Lefau would be the first option

would go with any of those options
as long as Bauer is not included.
Blight could be the go.

I’d be worried as a North fan. Very worried. They were full strength outside Curtis. Their top picks are all multiple years into their careers. And they were lucky to beat a team in the first 10-games of their rebuild with a heap of elite draftees not even playing.

Big worries on Duursma (sub?). FOS shows glimpses but a #2? I’d be worried when I watch Langford play. They kicked 6.0 to start the game and just limped over the line. We are in a much much better position than them given their rebuild is 5-6 years down.
I agree but we have to temper how fast we can improve because we had a lot more really experienced quality players still under 30 than North who are in our best 22. As our young guys develop we will lose the older guys whose effectiveness probably reduces at the same rate eg Nank, Broad, Lynch, Vlastuin, hopper, Taranto.

So next 2-4 years might still be 2 steps forward 1 step back until the ones from 2024 and 2025 are in their third year plus. Thats why rebuilds can sometimes take more than 5-7 years.

Only one match back from an Acl, doubt he comes in so soon, might have to be Gray and Bauer?
Probably not both, but I know which one I prefer.

We were never going from a bottom 4 team to premiers in a few years, if anything we progressed quicker than we really should have making finals in 2013. It was still an achievement.

There’s no “should have”. We improved rapidly, from 2010 to 2013, because we brought in/started getting good football from the likes of Cotchin, Martin, Riewoldt, Houli, and Edwards. In fact, as I mentioned in another post, we had half our premiership side by 2013, including all the prime movers. We absolutely could have won a flag in 2013 if, after 2012, we’d had the kind of review that we belatedly had after the train wreck of 2016.

We aren’t other teams though, every teams situation is different,

You need to judge us based on how we are going, our list make up not “well collingwood finished bottom 8 in 2021 and won the grand final in 2023 therefore we suck and should be challenging this year”

History, over the last 30 years or so, shows that teams tend to either improve rapidly or not at all

Big decision coming with shorty.
If we’re being honest he has been pretty horrible for 2 years now. banks coming good and the younger boys really standing up where does he sit?
Harsh but I don’t see a spot for him.
I'm probably the biggest Shorty supporter on here but I agree. Liking what Banks is doing. Reckon he is getting close to Shortys best output faster than Shorty got to it. Not as good of a kick as Shorty when he's at his best, but he's not been at his best for a while.

Maybe give Shorty a run as sub. Played his best in shorter quarters, maybe a late game injection will see him become damaging again.

Imagine having both Banksy and Shorty running and carrying thru the middle.
It’s that speed between the arcs that we need.

Once match fit I think he's better than both K-Mac and Hugo on the wing but teams often run 3 wings anyway and you could drop him back to half back or up to half forward.
needs to add about 10kg. has weirdly jacked legs but upper body is malnourished.

Tell us which team DIDN’T have half their premiership team assembled 3 years prior to winning it.

You’re missing the point. It wasn’t just that we had half the team assembled, it was that that half arguably included all our prime movers. The half that we added included some decent players, for sure, but the half that we replaced also included some decent players. It wasn’t the change in on-field personnel that was important. It was a change in off-field personnel and a change in attitude. The club finally got sick of having achieved ****-all and did something about it.
