The umpire should have paid a free for Rance jamming his elbow into Buddy's throat. If he'd done his duty Franklin wouldn't have had to try to push Rance off. The fake groaning by Rance stopped immediately the free was paid. Alex Rance is a disgrace to the game. As weak as piss. Luke Parker takes a smash to the face that leaves a great welt and difficulty seeing but brushes it off as only a genuinely tough footballer can. Meanwhile, Reiwoldt losing any respect for his huge talent by whining continuously for frees and even Softwick joins in for a whine at the presser. What an embarrassment to the AFL. Anyone watching our game for the first time would question whether these men have balls.

I am no fan of Buddy's theatrics but so lame that the guy on his back being pinned by Rance's arm to his THROAT then responds by hitting the aggressor's throat is the one who is fined!?
Neither should be fined imo but to fine the responder and not the initiator when both are targeting the exact same area is just stupid.
Sure I get it that Buddy's is a striking motion but is he just meant to accept a 100kg man bearing his body weight down on his throat? Ridiculous.

It's pretty easy to see which posters have never been hit in the throat. There's a good reason any strike to the throat is banned in MMA .. it can cause severe damage or even death with less impact than you might imagine. Unlike the head and other parts of the body, the throat has no muscle or bone to protect it and any blunt trauma can cause severe bleeding, breathing or spinal issues.
I'm not suggesting Rance's life was in danger, however, to suggest his reaction was fake and for Christian to not even consider it worthy of 'low impact' is laughable.
If you watch the video too, Rance does have his arm across Buddy's throat .. but there is negligible, if any, pressure being applied.

You’re really upset by Alex Rance. It’s almost as if it was this moment where Sydney’s season turned to poo. Certainly nothing has gone right for them since then.

The saying pot calling the kettle black does not mean two things are the same. It refers to someone accusing another of what they themselves are guilty of. So if you call my point of view biased I am saying you're likely to also be biased. Rance clearly pins Buddy down with an arm across his throat. The rest is an understandable reaction to that. Rance has a history of starting things then exaggerating the effect of the natural response. The umpire should have punished the instigator. End of story.
Why are Tigers such a whiney lot ? The players whine, the fans whine, even the coach whines.
