No he didn’t. First quarter was fairly even, Grundy on top in the second. Stanley played a fine match all around
I disagree. He would have cost us the game if Collingwood could kick straight in the second, where Grundy was just free to choose where to shovel it or getting a free kick every contest.

Anyway, not looking to get stuck in after a good win, but the up and down ruck situation remains a key weakness IMHO.

Honestly, it was a good win for Geelong. Winning ugly like that against a reigning Grand Finalist is comforting.

What is not comforting was Geelong’s forward line. They need a bit of gelling time by the looks of it.

No Rance really should be the making of Balta imo. Here's the chance to blood him.

I can’t ever remember not celebrating beating Carlton, but last night was the shittest win i can ever remember. But, ad you are saying, adversity creates opportunity. Garthwaite touched up Hawkins last year. He goes ok.

I’d rather he played as well mate. Was an absolute liability last time.

Speaking of liabilities, Grundy would want to stop playing for frees.

If being beaten for a quarter against the best/second best ruckman in the comp is as bad as it gets for us ruck-wise this year I’ll be pretty pleased

Yes agree was a mess

Think its more our mids entry into forward line were wretched

Pies similar too though was more their finishing off

Loved your first year kids. Young Constable played a cracker. And the kid with the mullet looks like he has something.

I'm hoping they stay in the team because it'll tell me things have changed.

Us fans don't deserve any shit; but the players deserve every bit of shit they cop. As soft as it gets - there was no heart out there. I coach in a different sport, if my guys came out like that... I'd be livid.
Tiges do those stupid handballs when they take a mark within 25m of goal about 5x a game- should be outlawed by the coaches.

The thing that worries me with our ruck situation is the 666 stuff. But yeah, if we get more of Q4 and less of Q2 then we're probably ok.

Geelong again win by free kicks and pure luck, don't any Geelong person tell me these guys don't get the rub it only takes one to three frees that are very dodgy and they seem to get them, no other club in the AFL gets the crap these guys get maybe WCE , given by umpires, there is at least one goal that geelong scored from a simply invented free kick from the ump.
Maybe its their jumpers that reflect badly at night or the umps can't see , I don't know , but Collwd should have kicked better, and the game was even but Geelong as per usual seem to get those advantages every time, and slime their way to a win. Any way the games as confusing as last year, zone stuff is OK everything is still the same bullshit with rules. How many times do teams have to win from free kicks, is that footy? I have no idea any more.

If geelong kicked every goal to win a game from frees, and each free was there, that would be great, but its never like that , there is always frees to those two Danger and Selwood and for some reason it always changes the result, even big Tom doesn't get looked after like those two but he benefits from it.
I actually think that Geelong became the better side and deserved to win, but shit , they always get helped and its always the usual suspects who get benefit of the doubt with very doubtful free kick decisions like the umps have a habit of just giving it to Selwood or Danger mouse, when something is a toss up.
Its true.
But quite weird. And it only takes that one or two mess ups, but they were both fumbling like amateurs tonight.
With the rules same old same old the AFL has done nothing. And still has unneeded rules to pull the game up and make it unfair, by the way Dangermouse did get a free against him that was absolute bullshit, so now the AFL is going to start taking en deavour out of it too.
Nice melt friend

To be honest though, Geelong also burned a lot of simple shots close to the goals especially in the first half. I think it’s because there are so many new players that they still are trying to learn each other’s moves.

Agree. When Dimma stopped playing his favorites we turned things around. Why wouldn’t you keep them playing.

Well there's Guthrie to come back - whom I don't rate at all - and S.Selwood - whom I don't rate either, and we know they're instant walk-ups in the team. That's concerning.

Add to that Tuohy and Bews and 4 players need to be dropped.
