Some interesting ratings. Don't agree with all of them ie Hickey higher than Lycett but interesting that Houston and Hurn are similar. Houston will never be as hard as Hurn but his kicking will become as important.

X man had his best ratings games. Surprised Rozee ended up so high. Gerard Healy has a new favourite player me thinks.

SPP - If he had cleaner disposal he could easily be a top 25 player in the AFL. He has everything else. Size, pace, x factor, he just muffs the finish far too much. He was great. Excellent in fact. He led the way through the middle in the part of the game that we dominated. He just has to be cleaner though

Clurey - Dominated Darling and also Yeo when he was up forward. Is in career best form this year. Thought he was poor for much of last year but his spike in form has been great to see. He's now the defensive general that we needed him to become

Howard - Well that's his best game at AFL level. He thrashed the resting ruckmen and gave neither Vardy or Hickey anything at all. His attack at the ball from the half back line was exceptional and he repelled a number of West Coast attacks. Good to see.

Jonas - His best game of the year. Did the job on Kennedy. Was dour. Didn't do much with the ball

Houston - Kept Ryan in check, did a great job defensively and was great in attacking from the backline as well. Glad he got another goal. I love him. One of my favourites. Of all time. ALL TIME.

DBJ - Went onto Petrucelle through the second half and thought he did a great job in shutting him out of the game. His best game for the year as well.

Rozee - Looked done early in the game with that ankle and whilst it took him a while to get back into the contest, he was crucial through the second half. And that goal. Wow! Just wow. That was peak Judd stuff. The sheer pace, the confidence to bounce in the wet with someone on his hammer and to steady and goal. Brilliant. What a star.

Boak - Started well but was well held by Hutchings after 1/4 time and just wasted the ball too much. His worst game for the year.

Burton - Was poor early, moved onto Cripps and kept him to pretty well no influence at all. Was good with the ball.

Lycett - Dominated the ruck and was the catalyst for our win. Did everything you'd want. Took marks, won clearances, led from the front. Is playing much better than I ever hoped he would.

Butters - So clean. Most players were fumbling. He was one touching everything like a god. Not his best game overall, but thought he played his part and had a good role in the win

S Gray - Took over Motlop's role and hard to argue that he wasn't significantly better. Kicked a couple of goals and provided plenty of pace. Was a star through the first half.

R Gray - Good in parts without doing anything spectacular. Shephard held him pretty well.

Drew - Was excellent through the first half and had a genuine impact. Fell out of it through the third quarter but had a great last again. Very happy he played so well off a wing.

Wines - He's back. Much better. Led from the front through the midfield and just did as he pleased.

Rockliff - A bit down on his form so far but still played his part

Duursma - Really liked his game. Two nice goals, had some really great moments on a wing. Great to see him bounce back from last week.

Well don't some of us have eggs on our faces?

Happy to admit I was wrong.

Only caught some of quarter 2 and quarter 3 at the pub. I look forward to sitting down and admiring what the hell just happened.

Now let's see how we go as "the hunted"

Did not see that happening.

Very well coached we saw their strength and played to beat it.

Good:

Dan faarken Houston surely deserves a Dan faarken Houston thread. Make it so.

Butters if this is year one what do we have to look forward too.

Drew drew drewsie bit o class this fella.

Lycett that bugger puts in.

SPP hurts em love it.

Boak wants to win I can smell it.

Doogs back yourself in.

Bad:

Faaarken maggots we keep being told second to the ball you give them away. Explain that mofos.

Hoff what happen got to stay in but I praise your consistency and you become inconsistent.

Robbie you got attack of the fumbles.

I happy.

For the record I drink too much beer and we win well . Lasst time I drink lots of beer we smash the game

I in bay 523 row P from six next week if anyone want to drop off a round.

The way we just completely shut out their forwards was something pretty special. Darling, Kennedy, Vardy, Cripps, Ryan, Allen all did nothing.

Never in doubt. If only I put some cash on it...

Was Rockliffs best game by an absolute mile..

Well maybe Melbourne was similar but I had quite a few that day...

Racking up pointless possessions and doing nothing with it except chipping it sideways to someone under pressure the last couple of weeks turned into an attacking, effective impactful performance.
His first option was eyes up, attack. He was told, he delivered. That's what we need from him each week, not the other nonsense.

Bonner doesn't exist in this dojo, Macca?

Sam's best work is as a gutrunning linkman who can rotate through the stoppages and sneak forward and get into space. Using him as a full time forward was so dumb. He was really good tonight, full credit to him, but it helps that he was played in a more natural role.

Great to see Sam Gray show what he is capable of when played in his proper role. His link up play was good all night and the goals are a bonus. He cops a lot on here and obviously isn’t our most gifted player but he has footy smarts compared to a few others.
If we could combine his smarts with SPPs raw ability we’d be set!!!
Liked SPPs game , simplified his role and just let him hit contests at full tilt. Sure the ball was wasted a few times but I thought he probably slightly shaded Sam G as BOG.

SPP needs to look before he delivers the ball .. Too many times he kicks it forward to who .. f knows

As much as Robbie was well held by Sheppard I actually enjoyed his game. No sooking or removing himself from the contest to play for frees.

Even though it wasn’t happening for him he kept in the contest with second efforts and had some great knock ons and blocks.

Not a great game by him but if he keeps playing with that attitude he won’t be far from having an absolutely ripping match.

Now let's see how we go as "the hunted"

You were calling for Marshall to come into the side and for the coach to play a more potent forward line. He did and he did and it paid dividends. You weren't wrong at all.

So all these bellends giving the thumbs down and "i told youse so" to all the so called "naysayers", go **** yourselves.

Well the two games I’ve had the least confidence in have been our best performances.Melb. and tonight .
Great win from the team . Boak has been awesome along with Rocky but tonight they had plenty of mates . Wines , Drew and Sammy Gray all having good games . Add the good games from Howard , Byrne Jones and Jonas sure stiffened up the defence to go with the already good performers Houston , Burton and Clurey , made it a very strong defence .
Marshall did what Marshall does , tap ons , a few marks but he definitely helps the structure, he is dangerous and yea leave him in Kern please .
Sammy Gray turned back the clock as he was delivering games like that a few years back and his extra zap around the packs was choice .
Lycett was great , such a score for us , so competitive and can’t see him getting dominated too often .
Burton has also been a positive addition , apart from his cheekiness that the umps don’t like .
Was impressed with Duursma and Drew , love how clean Drew is , talk about a natural footballer.
Howard was definitely better , started going the mark as a first option and attack the ball was definitely more attacking which is his go.
SPP, Ebert , DBJ , it wasn’t hard to find good players .
That goal from Rozee WoW . If that’s the future . Bring it On .
Maybe just Maybe we could play finals

Geez someone pissed in your cereal. 2 Games ago, you guys were saying Sam Gray should never play AFL again. 1 game ago you guys were saying sack both captains. Same guys wanting Doogs sacked. I am sure it was the same people saying Boak and Rockliff were cooked last year. Same people saying Ebert is a terrible forward, yet he is leading the goal kicking. Marshall bringing the ball to ground didn't win us the clearances, contested possessions, tackles, inside 50s. Half the team playing much better than last week did.
