  • Give Whiteman a shot, he can't do any worse than Nevill.
  • I think it's time to move on Voges- probably Handscomb.
  • I'd keep Marsh in over Burns who is ordinary.
  • Henriques over M Marsh
  • Bring back Khawaja- pitches will be as flat as ever
  • Take your pick for 3rd seamer- the south australian in me would love to see Chadd Sayers play but won't happen
So:
1. Warner
2. S Marsh
3. Khawaja
4. Smith
5. Handscomb
6. Henriques
7. Whiteman
8. Starc
9. Coulter-Nile
10. Hazlewood
11. Lyon

Henriques hasn't made a run in Sri Lanka. You can argue M Marsh isn't up to it at 6, but Henriques has been even worse.

This was being said last year but replace Whiteman with Nevill and Nevill with Wade.
Voges getting the boomer treatment? Record is great but too old?
Burns doesn't deserve a recall, needs to beat the door down to get back in
Henriques should be shafted and not to return. Bring back Mitch
Khawaja is a flat track bully so wouldn't surprise
No Coulter-Nile for me. Is Siddle back from injury?

People are quick to jump the gun with Nevill. Best keeper we've had since Healy. Better FC batting average than Whiteman. Good batsman. You don't chuck a guy after 15 tests FFS.

"Even when Brad Haddin has been free of national duties, Nevill has often been included in the state side as a specialist batsman alongside Haddin, so solid is his batting." cricinfo.

Bancroft a better keeper or nah?

Also... Shoulda played Zampa in the tests imo.

We need a leggie, sick of the revolving door of finger spinners since Warney retired
Bancroft isn't really a keeper. He's an opening batsman. He can keep a little bit but it's not what he does. He'll never keep in a test unless it's injury cover for the selected keeper. If the selectors thought he was a potential test keeper in any way, he'd be keeping for Aust A.

He WAS keeping for Australia A in a couple of recent matches.

Siddle has broken down mid test in like his last 3-4 test matches.

I think we should see more of what Bird has got.

I want to move towards this squad for the India tour

1. David Warner
2. Cameron Bancroft
3. Steve Smith
4. Shaun Marsh
5. Peter Handscomb
6. Peter Nevill+
7. Mitch Marsh
8. Steve O'Keefe
9. Mitchell Starc
10. Nathan Lyon
11. Josh Hazlewood

If one of O'Keefe or Lyon misses bring in Bird or Pattinson.
Burns has to play in oz. O'Keefe never gets another game imo. Your teams tail starts at 5, actually 4 because S. Marsh is very unreliable. Khawaja also has to play in oz.

Henriques was brought back far too soon, I think he deserves a run in Australia with some Cricket behind him.

He was a desperate choice. He had no 1st class cricket for ages.

I'm not sure that he'll get more chances if he doesn't score some runs in the next few games though. He's got an odi average of around 7 after nearly 10 games. There's rubbish and there is utter rubbish.

Why does Burns have to play in Aus?

Why is Shaun Marsh very unreliable? Because of a series 5 years ago?

He's averaged mid 40s in tests since the start of 2014 with 3 test centuries - including two away from home and has averaged over 50 in shield cricket in that time.

Keeping was his thing as a junior, but the higher the standard the more he's focused on his batting and with good justification considering his suitability as an opener. Clearly has the fundamentals, but he's missed out on a few key years of development as a keeper so I don't think it's worth him going back to it full time.

Siddle is busy eating tofu and bananas.

Scored the 2nd most runs for Australia in SL and picked up a couple of wickets from limited opportunities. Still too few runs, but there's better blokes to point the finger at.
I guess it's more the eyes test with me. I look at him and just see a bloke who can go out any second. That's what does it for me, Handscomb is the opposite even though it's at a level below.

1. Cameron Bancroft
2. David Warner
3. Steve Smith (C)
4. Shaun Marsh
5. Peter Handscomb
6. Mitchell Marsh
7. Peter Nevill (+)
8. Mitchell Starc
9. James Pattinson
10. Nathan Lyon
11. Josh Hazlewood

no he doesn't he a hack! he is 29 years of age and been in the system since his early 20s. he does nothing most of the year besides the odd large 100 with a not out in a drawn game. he get picked automatically purely he is from NSW and apparently has potential that he has never shown.

What games has Nev lost with the bat? Seriously, what games? Games lost because of batting are on the top 6.

What games has he WON with his keeping ability?

15 tests with an average under 21 is not good enough no matter how many runs you are saving with the gloves.
