Yep today's overall team work- willingness to do the small things has been missing too often. Even with injuries if we had it we would be at least 6th now.

It's one of those games where almost everyone played well. Almost everyone did something positive.
Papley, McLean, Dattoli & Cleary are probably the only ones that struggled to contribute. So much better squad performance, which is more sustainable than relying on a few.
We genuinely might get to 13-10, which is a record you're pretty stiff to miss finals with altogether.

Best 10th placed team of all time.

I'd love to see Cameron's averages vs Cunningham over the years. Probably one of the most lopsided battles I've seen given Camerons quality

Can't be upset about that one, even with that last minute scare. Plenty of chances to properly put them away in that last quarter. Revenge is sweet - althogh not an equivalent revenge to what we want/need.

Gus becoming the Gus we hoped for.

TMac you champ! Now, that's how a milestone game should go.

Gulden will bash himself for some of those plays, but the pro he is he'll eradicate from his game in off-season.

How was that Heeney mark!?..and Heeny in general. That speccy didn't receive near enough replays!

Good team performance with a lot of good outweighing the bad.
1) Very solid across the back except when the mids couldn't hold the Lion's mids and visions of the GF fluttered. Cunningham wears Cameron again. Blakey another solid performance. The others all good.
2) Heeney back in his AA form. Superb.
3) Other mids solid, but combinations still need work.
4) Goal kicking almost cost us the game. Expected score will be interesting. Still needs work.
5) Buller and McLean aren't stars but put in and had a few nice touches. It's good to remember that the Lion's defenders are top notch.
6) We bit off too much a few times and allowed Lions to spoil or intercept.
7) I think we still haven't figured out how best to utilise our small troops up forward. None of them had the level of involvement that I would like to see, but it wasn't through any lack of effort. Comes down to training and familiarity.
8) Grundy another solid game against a big body.
9) The big thing though is (almost) 4 quarter effort at a good level.

Cleary - Tried but too easily put out of the contest

The lack of Umpiring control when Grundy’s head got pushed down in that aerial contest and caused him to leave the field

Zorko’s acting.

The lack of an effective back up ruckman after Grundy went off.

Papley is an odd one - he made an appearance early,got crunched and disappeared. I’m going to assume he is carrying or was crook.

Florent - all I’ll say is watch the game and see how many ‘reactive’ instead of ‘considered’ decisions he makes- and the fwd line contest in the 3rd qtr - watch his head - it wasn’t good.
