Ablett and Bartel were only good players last year. Hodge was already a superstar..

Find it interesting that these so called 'non-biased' Port Adelaide supporters are slagging every geelong player in the 2001 Draft.. Luke Hodge is a terrific player and would come in at fourth behind Judd, Bartel and Ablett.

Neither did we, but we started playing Finals footy, i guess u wouldn;t really know what its like to lose a final though right???

fair call....but would u agree with mitchell being a better footballer than hodge, imo he is far better and is a much more valueble player to the hawks....people that say hodge is better than bartel and ablett are very uneducated footy viewers

Yeah happy for supporters to put their players ahead of others. Cats fans pick Ableet and Bartel over Hodge/ and vice versa. We really are splitting hairs! I mean the top 5, (Judd, Hodge, Bartel Ablett and Dal Santo) are all super players that can win, or have won brownlows.

Agree with this post. It amazes me how quickly the mood changes on Bigfooty. 4 weeks ago we had posts proclaiming that Hodge had overtaken Judd. 4 weeks later and both Jnr and Bartel have passed Hodge.

They are all wonderful players. My order would probably be Judd-Hodge-Ablett-Bartel. The difference between 1st and 4th would be minimal though and would happily having any running around in the black and white.

I think they are both as valuable as each other, Mitchell prob does better in Brownlow voting becoz he's always in the guts getting clearances, I think they would both be great captains due to there 'lead by exampleness', Hodge is a great kick, he's tough, great decision maker as is Mitchell,but Hodge has much more presence, anyone will agree with me if they saw the Final against Adelaide.
Mitchell would be much easier to replace than hodge.

Regardless of who is better, Hodge is still not rated high enough by most people. He certainly isn't over rated. That is a tag for Joel Bowden and a good many of his team mates.

Gary Ablett Jnr was a father/son selection. He was NEVER going anywhere but Geelong for heavens sakes. Because at the time they didn't have to give up a first round selection for him he should not be included in the "top 10" lists.

Lets not get too carried away here!! Whilst Steve Johnson has had a terrific season, he needs to do it consistently for 2 or 3 more to be classed as a superstar. And as for Dane Swan, he has been consistent in an ordinary midfield. The top 5 players in the 2001 draft pick themselves, and after that there are a number of players that could slip into the top 10.

I dont see enough of the others to really JUDDge ! Judd doesn't particualrly play well against hawthorn.

either way, geelong and Hwthorn cleaned up - and the eagles did too (up to a point - the point being 2007 !!!)

I'm not going to ump my own players up. But Hodge has one great year. I have seen quite a few hawks games this year, and he was only good this year... by no means was he elite.
