How could Ball possibly be above Bartel, Ablett, Mitchell, Dalsanto or even Steve Johnson ?
He's had one decent season and from memory he's had 4 BOG's in total in his 5 year career.
His ex Xavier schoolmate Jobe Watson is above him now and so are a hell a lot of others.
Who cares if he's tough ?
By that logic, Brett Kirk is the best player in the league.
The fact is that he is just a good average footballer with a ton of courage.
To be quite honest, I couldn't really see what all the fuss was about when he did have his 'two good seasons.'
People confuse courage with skill and the media fell in love with him.
No question that he is super courageous but his disposal has always been average at best, he has no real tricks that make him stand out and he has never been able to turn a game on his own.

I have not seen any mention of Brent Reilly. The guy is a gun, and is definately in the top 10 players of 2001 (albeit in the bottom regions)
good player, but look at the top 10's people are listing.I have not seen any mention of Brent Reilly. The guy is a gun, and is definately in the top 10 players of 2001 (albeit in the bottom regions)
wat has hodge achieved in his career? Bartel and Ablett have been far better players...wen u say 4 weeks later and ablett and bartel have passed hodge, well have a look at the past 4 weeks... jimmy and jnr play great finals games poll well in the brownlow....on the other side of the spectrum have a look at the final hodge played against the kangaroos (single figured possies) Judd Bartel Ablett>>>Hodge Dal Santo
This is based on their career to date.

i still cant believe people are placin hodge in front of bartell and/or ablett...if he wasnt the number 1 in the draft would he be considered?

Bartel's had one good year. Does he look like a bloke that will lead his club, inspire his team to victory and remain in the best players in his position for the next 5 - 10 years? Then again, it's been a while since you've had one of those at Tiger-land.omg hawks supporters r the most biased d******s...did this bloke not watch football?
