surely Reilly deserves a mention

How could Ball possibly be above Bartel, Ablett, Mitchell, Dalsanto or even Steve Johnson ?

He's had one decent season and from memory he's had 4 BOG's in total in his 5 year career.

His ex Xavier schoolmate Jobe Watson is above him now and so are a hell a lot of others.

Who cares if he's tough ?
By that logic, Brett Kirk is the best player in the league.

The fact is that he is just a good average footballer with a ton of courage.

To be quite honest, I couldn't really see what all the fuss was about when he did have his 'two good seasons.'

People confuse courage with skill and the media fell in love with him.

No question that he is super courageous but his disposal has always been average at best, he has no real tricks that make him stand out and he has never been able to turn a game on his own.

You were either born in about 1995, or didn't watch football from 2003-2005 before Ball got injured. Absolute gun.

I'm guessing you think Chris Grant is an average KPP too!

This is based on their career to date.

1.Chris Judd
2.Luke Hodge
3.James Bartel
4.Gary Ablett Jnr
5.Nick Dal Santo
6.Luke Ball
7.Sam Mitchell
8.Dane Swan
9.Campbell Brown
10.James Kelly

wat has hodge achieved in his career? Bartel and Ablett have been far better players...wen u say 4 weeks later and ablett and bartel have passed hodge, well have a look at the past 4 weeks... jimmy and jnr play great finals games poll well in the brownlow....on the other side of the spectrum have a look at the final hodge played against the kangaroos (single figured possies) Judd Bartel Ablett>>>Hodge Dal Santo

Hodge being on the park that night was an achievment in itself, take half baked players into finals at your own demise but very harsh to rate his finals preformance whilst injured

i still cant believe people are placin hodge in front of bartell and/or ablett...if he wasnt the number 1 in the draft would he be considered?

i'm guessing u havent seen a lot of Luke Hodge, if hodge didnt go number 1 he would have gone number 2 or 3, it would be interesting to see who would have gone where if the Hawks had have Picked Chris Judd

not quite, Kelly had 1 bad season and was better then reily in all the others.

Reilly will be one of the elite in the AFL in a few years time, his skills are brilliant and he is all class, struggled a bit with injuries this year hopefully he can get fit and have a big year next year

do you have the memory of a gold fish?

Before 2007 Ablett was a handy goal sneak, probably never even mentioned in an AA selection meeting prior to this year. Now he is an elite player.

Hodge has been elite for 3 years now.

omg hawks supporters r the most biased d******s...did this bloke not watch football?
Bartel's had one good year. Does he look like a bloke that will lead his club, inspire his team to victory and remain in the best players in his position for the next 5 - 10 years? Then again, it's been a while since you've had one of those at Tiger-land.

LOL

bartel was very good last year as well but didn't get any recognition..... and he played well in the 2nd half of the season the year before that.

We haven't got a spoon recently. Care to enlighten us as to Richmond's recent history. Your team has been bottoming out for 25 years so give up on the preaching.

By the way our rebuilds started at the same time stupid. Remember you guys hired super coach Terry before we hired Al
What have Richmond been doing for the other 25 years since their last 1/2 decent season?
