But will take anyone and then talk him up as the best in our team!
 
No worries Rgs, I'll update the opening post and add your name.
Keep checking the first post a few times a week, it will be updated with a Draft order, plus a date for the draft.
You can choose to participate in the live draft if you wish, but you can also PM me a list of your preferences (in order), so that if you are not online during the draft you will get your selection entered for you by me.

Hmm yes it seems I have misunderstood :confused:

Now I don't want to go stomping around like a nazi and ordering everyone what to do, that's why I have been asking for suggestions. I think it's great that so many people are interested and willing to put forth their ideas. BUT that said, I think it's getting to the stage where I will need to make an executive decision so we can get the ball really rolling.

To make it nice and simple, I think we should just have one main draft where we randomize the list of posters, then everyone chooses a player. If there is anyone who misses out at the end, they can join up as a secondary reporter. If anyone feels like being just a secondary reporter for a player, ask the Buddy.
This way, hopefully with the popular players, we will have a couple of different points of view etc etc.,
If a Buddy is busy, the secondary Buddy will be there to fill in and cover the gaps.
If a Buddy is neglecting their duties, the secondary Buddy can step up to the main plate.

I agree with all of the above.:thumbsu: Can't wait for the draft. It was so exciting last year. Admittedly I lead a quiet life.:eek:

We randomized the order of posters, then they just made their choice when it was their turn. Pretty simple.
I think Snag's idea of having last year's Buddy stay on board is also a good idea though. Or maybe everyone could just make 2 choices, a primary buddy and a secondary buddy? The draft won't be for a while yet, so there is still time to ponder these important decisions :D

Cool. That is the way.
Regarding secondary "Buddies". What I am advocating is that, after the draft, those who may think they need a secondary can make it known they are in the market and conversely those who may have missed out can let the "Buddies" know they are interested in being involved.
The way I put it previously my have sounded like the ramblings of a slightly drunken Christmas reveler....for some reason...:D

We are going to have a buddy draft, as we did last year.
It will be drawn as it was last year.

The only changes, which as far as I know are pretty well agreed to?? are that once a posters has successfully drawn a player and after the full draft that poster can let it be known, if they so wish, that they would be interested in having a second poster to assist in the buddy thread of their player. Also any poster who misses out, and there will be a few by the look of it, can put there name up to be a second poster.

This will give the most people an opportunity, be the fairest draw and should see a better continuity of info going into the individual buddy threads.

What do you guys think about next Sunday for a draft date? Weekends easier, or prefer a weekday? Next Sunday would be good for me :D

Scruff it's easy as pie!
Just watch the game each week, then jump on here and post a report of how your Buddy went.
Also, post links to any news articles about your player.
It's not rocket surgery :p
No probs if you still just want to go back up though.
 
First post updated with 3 new members.

We are still on track for a Sunday 11/1/09 draw!
Later today I am planning on randomising the list.

I will take the first 8 people to sign up and randomise that group. This will be pick 1-8 in the draft.
Then the next 8 people, and so on and so forth.
This is to ensure that nobody slips too far down the list if the took the initiative to sign up early.
With the newbs, I will be placing them at the end of the list. Who knows, these guys (or girls) may turn out to be great posters, but we don't want to take the chance that they might get bored of BF, and we have threads for star players that don't get updated often/at all.

Thanks everyone for all the support you have shown for the 2009 Buddy Board.
